Should be fine... Most motherboards can overclock this dual core easily as its power requirements are very low. You'll need at least 320MHz system bus to reach 4GHz using the CPU highest multiplier 12.5x, which should be easy on most motherboards. You might need to bump the Vcore a bit to reach 4GHz stable though.. depends on your luck. If you got a golden chip which can reach 4GHz on stock Vcore then you're very lucky.

Take the overclock one step a time .. Test with wPrime or Prime95 for stability, if not increase voltage bit by bit until stable.
The RAM voltage increase option is for overclocking the RAM. Increase this a bit if running the RAM at (much) higher than its rated opertaing clock speeds. |

QUOTE(uzary @ Jan 16 2009, 05:21 AM) if i set the ram voltage normal(at default) and not 0.2v+ like in the pic can? Can... just use Memtest to check RAM stability if running above its rated operating frequency.. |

QUOTE(uzary @ Jan 16 2009, 07:29 PM) so i shud try to make sure that my 45nm running below 1.45v for 4ghz++ using ccf? That one is for pushing the FSB (to very high, usually above 400MHz). Do not touch that one until you have reached a FSB "wall". QUOTE(uzary @ Jan 16 2009, 10:12 PM) bro, pci express frequency must alwayz set at 100? if set auto wat happen? Try to maintain PCI Express frequency at 100MHz. Otherwise PCIe devices might not respond properly to higher frequencies and timings. Why don't you inquire these stuff at the overclocking section? Moving this thread there... Added on January 17, 2009, 2:43 am QUOTE(B u B u @ Jan 16 2009, 05:27 PM) Can anyone tell me how do I OC CPU GHz ? I cant seems to find it in the bios menu..Using Extreme QX6800 with CCF? Which motherboard are you using at the moment? Check the motherboard manual for the overclocking menu.. Lex tolong =) OC abit will BOOM anot? Jz abit =) This post has been edited by lex: Jan 17 2009, 02:43 AM |

@uzary... You have to tell us...
#1. System bus or FSB frequency, and CPU multipliers used.. #2. Memory multiplier used, as well as current memory frequency... voltage used for RAM Added on January 19, 2009, 2:14 am QUOTE(B u B u @ Jan 17 2009, 01:53 PM) Asus P5QL-PRO motherboard loh...how how? In the BIOS...Under AI Tweaker Menu Set FSB Frequency to 333MHz Set CPU multiplier to 9 Set PCIE Frequency to 100 Set FSB Strap to Northbridge to 333mhz Set DRAM frequency to 400mhz also... Set C1E Support to Disabled Set Max CPUID to Disabled Set Intel Speedstep to Disabled Run CPU-Z to check the CPU frequency, also check the memory frequency.. You should get around 3GHz (equivalent to a QX6850)... Run and see if its stable (test with Memtest86, wPrime, Prime95 or Orthos).. If stable then slowly raise the CPU multiplier one step at a time, and re-run the stability tests. If not stabil then raise the Vcore a bit... Your target will be 3.33GHz first (10.0 x 333MHz), then try to reach 3.67GHz (11.0 x 333MHz). Any higher than that then you have to start raising the FSB beyond 333MHz...
