errrr... VTT is wat again ah?? CPU PLL or FSB termination ah?? hahaha 4get which de...

btw 45nm proc can go 1.45v ka?? isnt that a little too high for 45nm procs? >"<

VTT is FSB termination
1.45v is fine but anything above is not recommended for 24/7

ur volts depends on ur stability. if its too low, ur oc is not stable. For me, I`d use high ones first, test with P95, if stable, undervolt it till the max possible one

That one is for pushing the FSB (to very high, usually above 400MHz). Do not touch that one until you have reached a FSB "wall". wink.gif

Try to maintain PCI Express frequency at 100MHz. Otherwise PCIe devices might not respond properly to higher frequencies and timings. icon_rolleyes.gif

Why don't you inquire these stuff at the overclocking section? Moving this thread there... nod.gif

Which motherboard are you using at the moment? Check the motherboard manual for the overclocking menu.. hmm.gif

ok, jus received my sunbeam ccf today.. i try to oc my proc to 4.0ghz.. but at 1.4vcore, still not stable, thus i dunwan to push to higher vcore as im stil new in this oc world, tongue.gif sweat.gif, then i decide to oc to 3.87ghz, at 1.36vcore, i manage to stable using othos at max load of around <61'c.. that a 30 min strees cpu and ram test.. however, at 33 min, there is an error, something like hardware failing..it just stop, but not hang, no BSOD, no nothing.. i just closed the orthos, and now resuming surfing the net..
my question is how long will it take to test for stability, and is my pc is stable or not? and what does it mean by hardware failing?does i fail any of my hardware? but somehow my hardware no effect or anything.. rclxub.gif plez help..

Added on January 18, 2009, 9:02 pmto be honest its quite hard to reach 4ghz with e7 and e5....even C0 e8 sometime struggle to get 4Ghz....Goodluck...

@uzary... You have to tell us...

#1. System bus or FSB frequency, and CPU multipliers used..

#2. Memory multiplier used, as well as current memory frequency... voltage used for RAM

In the BIOS...

Under AI Tweaker Menu

Set FSB Frequency to 333MHz
Set CPU multiplier to 9
Set PCIE Frequency to 100
Set FSB Strap to Northbridge to 333mhz
Set DRAM frequency to 400mhz

also...

Set C1E Support to Disabled
Set Max CPUID to Disabled
Set Intel Speedstep to Disabled

Run CPU-Z to check the CPU frequency, also check the memory frequency.. hmm.gif

You should get around 3GHz (equivalent to a QX6850)... Run and see if its stable (test with Memtest86, wPrime, Prime95 or Orthos).. If stable then slowly raise the CPU multiplier one step at a time, and re-run the stability tests. If not stabil then raise the Vcore a bit... Your target will be 3.33GHz first (10.0 x 333MHz), then try to reach 3.67GHz (11.0 x 333MHz). Any higher than that then you have to start raising the FSB beyond 333MHz... wink.gif

at 3.87ghz, my fsb is 310x12.5
vcore at 1.36v
memory frequency i dont remeber but less then 800,rated ram speed is 800
memory multiplier i dun remember but i always choose the 1 dat close to 800,
and if u are asking for ddr2 voltage control, i set it to normal...
right now trying to find stable oc at 3.5ghz at 280x12.5,vcore 1.24v,memory mlti 2.5 at 700.. running prime95 for almost 2hrs now..no error..is it stable enuf?

extra info bout mysef, btw is 24/7 play mean u never shutdown the pc everyday? if so, then im not a 24/7 person, my usage is maybe around 8-10 hrs a day, not straight 8-10hrs,but accumulated hrs per day, and i often shutdown after play my pc..so do i realy ned a stress test for 8hrs at least?
