The emulator works, but not with all games. Plus you'll be needing at least a Mid-Range Graphics Card and Core 2 Duo Processor in order to play games in good speed.

As long as it has been for PCSX2, it's still W.I.P and if you count the overall costs to play PS2 games on the pc then you'll understand why Zeroize and alwizbthere said it's NOT WORTH IT. That still doesn't count the numerous compatibility problems you have to deal with.

Get the actual console already. Unless your PC is already quite damn powerfull or you just want to test the emulator. *I doubt it, most people only want to play* tongue.gif

You may PM me on how to get the stuff, but i'll never post it here as the PS2 BIOS needed to use the PS2 EMU is illegal to be shared. And i'd probably won't bother teaching so much about the settings as it is a bit troublesome.

The current Branch version of PCSX2 is now known as PCSX2 Playground and is much faster than the old official version.

im just curious, the PCSX2 instruction says i need a ps2 BIOS by dumping it from a ps2.. wat will happen to my ps2 if i dump its BIOS? is it like stealing my ps2 BIOS and then use it on my PCSX2 emulator?

Dumping the bios from the console is like extracting it out. The process seems a bit complicated and i didn't bother to do it since you can find loads of ps2 bios on the net if you search diligently. PM me if you really need it, i'd be glad to help.

It's not illegal to dump the PS2 bios as long as you OWN the console. But distributing the bios is of course illegal. The bios is like the firmware for the PS2 *or any other console for the matter*, without it the emulator cannot emulate the game.

FFX is fully playable. FFX-2 on the other hand is also playable but the FMV is not appearing.
