i say go 4-4-2 with alonso and gerrard to start off with in the middle,
and keane and torres up front.
pop mascherano in once we've settled a lead to take care of any counter-attacks through the middle.

come on reds!

I play for a football club that is coached by an ex-argentinian international, who played with maradona and is very good friends with maradona's brother.
He is a fantastic coach and very inspirational with an amazing tactical mind, he reads the game fantastically.

After united beat chelsea 3-0, we attended training on that tuesday, and he gave us his intake on the first goal.
His english isn't fantastic, but he can speak decently well and we can understand him.

He said that football is played over 90 minutes, and almost every professional team can play good and fluent football, to some extent. But the one thing that leads to teams conceding goals, is when the team 'falls asleep'.

Us as a football team have always used the corner-set-piece which united used that led to the disallowed goal, although he was quite upset that now half the world would be aware of this interesting corner technique, he said that if he was managing chelsea, he would punish every single defender marking up in the box, and probably not play john terry the next game.
He himself thought it was ridiculous that not only were the defenders 'sleeping' when the first disallowed goal went in, but that RIGHT after that did they concede from the following corner. He claims that the defenders were again, 'sleeping'.

Games are won and lost like this. Points are dropped and won like this.
Liverpool were winning in the 85th minute against everton and a free kick was conceded, all they needed to do is be disciplined enough to mark up tight and clear the ball and maybe pass it around for the next 5 minutes and they would be top of the table again.

I cant wait to hear what my coach has to say about the everton goal, if you watch the slow-mo replay, look at where tim cahill came from, and who on earth is marking him?
Everyone was moving around in the box and cahill literally WALKS in front of Hyypia while skrtel was in dreamland and had 'fallen asleep' and one quick ball fizzed in and bang, goal.

Liverpool have to be more alert, i think , and if they had been a bit more disciplined, we would be on the top of the table, piling the pressure on united.

riera has been absolutely fantastic recently, i think he should have started in place of babel.
Maybe start kuyt and replace him with benayoun later.

But Kuyt + Babel on the wings was just horrendous.
Kuyt is more of a right sided midfielder rather than a winger, and babel's quality isn't quite there yet.

Riera is exactly the sort of player we need on the wing, and benayoun is intelligent enough to do something with the ball.

Oh well, we played very very well, fantastic match.
Kuyt should have scored the winner.

QUOTE(Kernkraft400 @ Feb 2 2009, 02:09 AM)
Mike Riley can literally fcuk my epic ass. He is the cause of this dismay.
Lampard is nowhere near alonso, and he has got the ball, Alonso jumped away from him. Worse comes to worse, that is a yellow card, unless lampard pulled off a 2 feet high tackle, then its a direct send off.

Referees should be executed for dumb decisions like that. Well Chelsea had to risk the last goal, to get the last gasp of at least getting a draw.

My upmost respect and salutation to Frank Lampard, No.8, for his professional conduct. He walked away without any arguments like a real man, unlike some players who would fight just to prove himself, but referees decision is always final.
*
It was the high lunge that got him sent off, and if it wasnt lampard that deserved to be sent off, it was bosingwa, so i guess you lot were lucky to only get away with one red.
If bosingwa saw red he would be looking at a several game suspension if it's reviewed by FIFA.

chelsea deserved nothing from that game, with or without lampard, i barely saw him on the ball.

anyway the wonder-boy's back!

damn
i mean the other matches, i guess playing with alonso and masch will suffice,
but a massive CL match such as playing Real, we need gerrard.

i think we're lucky that we have an international friendly break in the second week, therefore he'd miss one less game.
phew
