QUOTE(Jonno @ Jan 15 2009, 06:51 PM)
Never going to happen, while a good player, he would struggle in the English game, if you look at him closely, while him having the pace, skills and eye for goal, but I doubt he has the build for the English game, defenders like Upson, Terry, Vidic, and even Titus Bramble eat him alive...

Not to mention he wouldn't like the weather much and I doubt he'd be able to settle.

There is always an exception my friend. Look at Robinho or even Defoe.

One of the wonderkids of the present. Plus, being a Brazilian, he naturally has enough flair to play like Agger. His age will also allow him to obtain a work permit with ease smile.gif Come on Rafa, are you reading?!

At the end of the day, guys, just remember, no one is bigger than the club - Liverpool F.C.

If we do sell Agger eventually and concede 5 goals every game and get ourselves relegated (touchwood), we will still stick behind the team and Liverpool F.C. will only allow players that truly want to play for the club to stay.

Now, I'm sure Rafa is experienced enough to do his job and he knows better than all of us here if Agger is worth to be kept. He has dealt with this plenty of times (Gerrard - Chelsea, Torres - Man City, Alonso - Juventus to name a few), so let's just wait and see in anticipation.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jan 16 2009, 10:54 AM)
I'm with Jon C on this one. We have not real insight into the actual situation but if he's being a selfish, greedy git who expects to be an automatic choice after just returning from and lenghty injury, then be off.

Why go to AC Milan? Hmmm well them being one of the giants of club football is defo a big plus. Hot women? Endless shopping? Life in general is much nicer than in gloomy England. Also, AC Milan have a reputation of playing a back four with the combined age of some football clubs. Jaap Stam? Paolo Maldini? Alessandro Costacurta? Franco Baresi? Serginho? Cafu? Leonardo? Just to name a few. Long term job security perhaps.

Looks like we've renewed our interest in Upson in light of Agger's impending departure.

Although I might get a lot of stick for saying this, but I was kinda hoping that we'd sign Joleon Lescott. I think that guy is class for an English defender.

unrelated to current topic but... must share: (sorry if posted before)
Torres also talks about his desire to win the Champions League, the importance of not letting Man United make it 18 titles and his desire to of course win the Premier League.[/quote]

If we have 11 players with his attitude, we would've already won the league by now.

It seemed to me like Aurelio - a professional player of the highest level, was too afraid to put his head on the line to clear the ball. What, was he afraid that it might mess up his hair or what?

The only good thing that came out of that line-up was seeing Agger's name.

The Kop singing the Fernando Torres song was more synchronised than the way the team played.
