Rofl yeah, ofc you have to pay tongue.gif But as hihihehe said you don't need to pay for the city circle trams.

I think as international students, you guys have to pay full fare as well instead of concession... which I  think is bullsh*t as you guys already have to pay higher fees  :S

But yeah, there ARE ticket inspectors and if you don't buy the right ticket/any ticket at all.. watch out!
*
Yea..Obviously nothing is free in this world. wink.gif

I googled abit on the city circle tram...hmm...i thought it would pass near UniMelb, apparently, its way out of the course tongue.gif dang!!
Hmm...not good...almost everywhere near UniMelb,the accommodation is full. sad.gif
Now,i have to look somewhere far.... sweat.gif

BTW,where are you guys staying over there???
Friends? Family? Rented single room? Studio Apartment?

thanks!

if you want 120, u got to go far.area like carnegie chadstone is possible to find. go east side of melb/holmesglen, frankston/caulfield/malvern east or north/richmond/kew/hawthorn/prahran/sandringham/south yarra/north melb
last heard, CBD abt 400 pw. not going down yet.
for more info about transportation in melb- http://www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au/
marketing gimmick doh.gif, more will come in 2010 to 2012 period. whistling.gif
*
Hey KV!
Thanks for the info smile.gif
Im gonna look somewhere near north melb smile.gif

BTW...how come i never hear anyone ride bicycle to their Unis?? tongue.gif Mostly walking and taking public transportation ..tongue.gif laugh.gif
Also,is CBD safe after late nite ? Since im an architecture student, there're possibilities i'll be heading out of school late nite, maybe 3 or 4am. hmm.gif

@hihihi
you've got a good point about staying further away from the U,since its the same price with the CBD rent per week. Also thanks for the info bout

OMG...that just happened. shocking.gif shocking.gif

And there's sure a lot of overseas student studying in Melbourne huh.Where're the locals??? sweat.gif
Tell me,if you guys walk on the street, you guys see a lot of Chinese/Indian people on the street (tho they can be from India or China/Korea), Dont you feel like you're in Malaysia?? the difference is probably the weather and the language spoken there tongue.gif

hurm...i wonder,if i go to Aussie like few few weeks before orientation day and without securing myself any accommodation yet,is that like taking a risk?
I was thinking about inspecting the apartments first and if im satisfied,i'd straight away move in.Or should i reserved a place while in still in Malaysia?(to be on the safe side)What did you guys do when you guys had to look for accommodation back then?? smile.gif

thanks

yes most are taken, quickly. n such will trouble if it drag on to orientation week.
doh.gif it is no2. KL. just the more organised one.
if you come earlier, ur have higher chances of getting plcs n settle down.
which agent n apartment you had look thru? sweat.gif
usually, settling in cost will accelerate n do come in with some start up cash. icon_rolleyes.gif
btw, hw come i hardly see you in msn anymore?
yes, competition is tough doh.gif
n with low vacancies. doh.gif
*
Yea,i just finished my final year and ive been lazying around and watchin YouTube for like almost all the time tongue.gif At the same time emailing agents and all that, asking for vacancies. Those places with cheap rents are taken, left those expensive ones sweat.gif i haven been on msn for like ages now. As a matter of fact,i haven been chatting online for so long already. Now that im on break,i should get back with my cyber friends before i get busy again smile.gif

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Jun 4 2009, 08:57 PM)
ya..n if the place u inspected is very nice yet cheap, then u will c all the ppl who go for inspection too quickly fill in application form at real estate office or on the spot while inspection..tht happens to me many times when i went for inspection..inspect half way de,nearly half of the ppl sit on the floor and fill the form =="

i found my place is when i pass by 1 apartment n got notice tht ppl wan rent out so i only can get it "peacefully"..lol
*
Gosh...this is so competitive unsure.gif Well, im headed to Aussi with my parents,so,hopefully i get lucky .Earlier,i thought of booking online ,then pay deposit but then, like you said,i was worried myself, if it was some scam. So,i think going there a few weeks earlier would be ideal i guess.

My x-ray imaging cost RM40 and the medical checkup was RM120. Yes, eCOE is needed as the VISA application needs your eCOE number.

Body test is about weighting, measure your height and so on.
*
My agent did say something like dat...smile.gif

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Jun 24 2009, 06:27 PM)
don ever pay by on9 especially the ppl who tell u to pay by Western Union..
n only pay for agents/landlords who can be trust...

i think i paid RM150/200(4got de) for complete test at pj hilton thr
u done ur med checkup then wat u need to do is wait for visa confirmation..
body check is like u c the doc n doc will check ur body.is like u having fever then doc check u
u no need to worry much except u in high drug..lol

i tot now u can apply visa by on9?y need a form?
*
hahahaha.....i thought body check like having to do body scan or stuff ...hehehe tongue.gif (been watching to much of HOUSE)
Now the influenza flu is spreading like madness...so got to take good care of the health, scared la hehe... sweat.gif sweat.gif

I dont know really...my IDP agent gave me the VISA form and once i received my ECOE,they will sort my visa.My agent told me to wait for my VISA then only do my medical... sad.gif
