I have a suggestion for Aerospace Engineering.

http://www.eng.unsw.edu.au/prospect/ug/be/aero.htm

But what are the "several reputable universities/institutes offering this course" you have in mind?

erm well i have this friend who is a graduate from RMiT. he was previously doing computer science in melbourne U until one of his friends changed his mind by telling him abt this course in RMiT. he's always been a physics fanatic and so he found his passion, immediately dropped computerscience( which he has done for 2 mths only) and pursue his dream. he's now 20+ of age and earns 5figure monthly.

besides RMiT i discovered that Monash Clayton also offers this course for around AUD 26k per year. a 4 year course. pretty expensive dont you reckon?

anyway thx for ur recommendation. well i plan to do my tertiary edu in a uni as close as possible to where my bro currently resides (glen waverley) .

oh last thing, is this a course with honours? is a masters required?(this ques covers for all engineering courses)

thx again notworthy.gif

With UNSW, if you are good enough you will be offered to do Hons, which you have to pay and requires additional time (1 sem or 1 yr, depending on what you are offered and how much you want to cramp in).

Masters is not a big hit in Australia. We prefer experience to qualification. Though basic and job specific quals are no doubt required to get you to where you want to be ultimately.

RMIT in my opinion will be better than UMelb in practical stuffs. Put it this way, RMIT is a polytechnic, practical skills matters. UMelb is more of a conventional university, theory matters, not so much emphasis on practical skills. UMelb friends don't flame me for this, just personal opinion!

Computer Science is different to Engineering. Don't compare apple to oranges. Work on your best interest and work hard to make your dreams come true. You are less likely to stress out on the job this way.

And is your friend earning 5-figure AUD or MYR? If you are to work in Malaysia after graduating, I'd say forget about the monthly 5-figure in MYR (for first job, fresh graduate entry).

is that true? from wat i heard RMiT is more to commerce/humanities no? Heck, Melbourne U doesnt even offer the course i hope to do.
Since my bro is planning to buy a house in Melb asap i dont wish to spend too much on accommodation by doing my course in Sydney/Adelaide etc. Hons in Aus/NZ is normally offered to top-notch students?

Well i'm sure you will be able to slowly catch up on experience once u have maximum qualification. These days aint it tough to even find a job with bachelors only?

erm well MYR i reckon. will ask him when i see him. he had actually rejected the offer to work for a SouthAfrican airline eventhough that certainly would guarantee good money and prospect, career-wise. Doncha think malaysia lack engineers in this type of fields? hmm.gif
