Is Z2300 a good speaker?
*
Acecombat,

That is a good speaker for gaming and movies. I have listen to it a little the last time. Although it lacks direction compared to its 5.1 counterpart, it is quite clear, strong bass and at a reasonable price.

I would recommend the Logitech Z5300e instead of Z2200 if they still sell it. Unfortunately, I don't see that around these days.

Another way to get Logitech Z5500 cheap is to buy it from Australia and then claim the GST upon returning from Australia. GST being 11% of the good. However, you would have to be in Australia for at least 2 weeks if not mistaken and the goods has to be more than Au$300 in one receipt. You can claim it in the customs at the airport. (I have claimed GST before for I-pods and other stuff)

If memory served well, it should be less than RM1.1k after claiming GST.

Hope this helps.

well i own 2 compaq primier sound which i bought a long time ago, this is a 2.0 unit,
great satellites and the best of all is the sub woofer, true 20 hz powered sub, now using the sub as my home theater sub, nothing like it, great bass and enough to fill the hall,

Logitech Z5500 is the best for me, best speaker for PC in my life biggrin.gif.
In conjunction used with X-Fi Fatality Sounds card wooo, this thing rocks.
I used Z5500 for PS3 / PC mostly. PC / PS3 Games, DVD on PS3 is better with 1080p output.
i went to friend house watch Three Kingdon with regular dvd player runs those standard yellow component cable, the quality is damn sux lol.
When use with PS3 + Z5500, best combo in quality and shake my room lol. (Normally i on subwoofer volume to 70-80% only with Fatality sounds card bass level at 50%, it is already going to break my room ceiling and it vibrates hard.

Bought mah first set altec 45.1 way back in 1998.

Added a second 45.1 for kids pc in 2001.

Added another altec but this time an atp 3 for my notebook in 2004.

All altecs are still solid....and the best sounds still come from my first 1998 set of 45.1

Deep bass, value for money and super long lasting speakers i'll say.

I don think so, Z-2300 got a pair lousy satellites, too much bass kills the clarity. Can't turn volume much past half without tuning with an EQ unless you want distortion leading to blown speakers, but don't get my wrong, it is still VERY loud when it is up half way.

most importantly what you pay is wat you get. speaker prices wont drop so easily as compared to other peripherals.
