Been using my Logitech Z5500 for almost 3 years now. Hence, I would go for Logitech but only the speakers that are THX certified.
Seems like this speakers has increased in price in Australia though. At one time, one could obtain it for less than RM1k.

Has anyone tried that Edifier speakers that cost about RM1.2k?
Should be a good competitor for Logitech Z5500 since their price is somewhat similar.

You can post your history of speakers in this thread under the Audiophile forum. History of speakers sets you have to dateCan't believe that this thread is still alive since last year.

QUOTE(kellefe @ Feb 7 2009, 02:14 AM) Anyone suggest Klipsch ? Sound quality is Superb and can decribe into word when u feel the world of Klipsch ~~ woo hoo ~~ My dad has an entire set of Home Theatre speakers for that. Sounds good but requires a decent amplifier. Klipsch used to have 5.1 speakers system for PC known as Klipsch Promedia (Ultra and Non-Ultra version). Their speakers were great but they died prematurely usually less than one year. Hence, they were taken off the market and discontinued altogether.

QUOTE(metsatsu @ Apr 18 2009, 10:39 AM) i missed my Logitech Z560 until now i still think it was a mistake selling it after my graduation.... I had that speakers too back in Australia. My sister is currently using that for her laptop. Very good set of speakers before 5.1 became the norm and before Logitech released the Z-680. Unfortunately, Logitech speakers in Malaysia are significantly more expensive than other countries.

QUOTE(AceCombat @ Apr 20 2009, 02:24 AM) Acecombat, That is a good speaker for gaming and movies. I have listen to it a little the last time. Although it lacks direction compared to its 5.1 counterpart, it is quite clear, strong bass and at a reasonable price. I would recommend the Logitech Z5300e instead of Z2200 if they still sell it. Unfortunately, I don't see that around these days. Another way to get Logitech Z5500 cheap is to buy it from Australia and then claim the GST upon returning from Australia. GST being 11% of the good. However, you would have to be in Australia for at least 2 weeks if not mistaken and the goods has to be more than Au$300 in one receipt. You can claim it in the customs at the airport. (I have claimed GST before for I-pods and other stuff) If memory served well, it should be less than RM1.1k after claiming GST. Hope this helps.
