aah, thanks.. in that case better stick to 2 speed then as it is for c7.
*
Actually clamp on is not possible for Eco C7 or many other Dahon models. Biggest is I think 34.9mm but Dahons tube is 40mm! Unless you braze a FD bracket onto the frame and then repaint the frame. tongue.gif If you want an easier uphill ride with 2 rings, go for the 50T/34T. It's available. Usual is 52T/42T where 52T is the usual number of tooth for foldies with single crank.

how is the suspension? Can feel? Bouncy??

20inch front suspension fork has only 50mm travel. In fact I am looking for RST Capa T which is a kiddie mountain bike suspension fork for 20 inchers. Hard to find. Haaizzzzzzzzz. rclxub.gif The Magura HS 33 are nice thumbup.gif It is actually a hydraulic cantilever brake. First came out in the late 2Ks. Stlll in production.

A friend requested me to mod her foldie (bought from KSH BIkes) to 16 speed. She wanted to sell it and get another one but this Geometric is not even listed in the internet. tongue.gif , so how to sell? It's actually assembled by KSH from a collection of cheapest components! So, the next best thing is carry on riding it and upgrade the gearing.

I manage to keep cost down to only about RM400. Getting a left hand side SRAM X4 is a nightmare so I have to ditch the SRAM system and change to Shimano. I got the cheaper Prowell double crank, a Microshift clamp on FD (this bike has a tube size of 34.9mm) but this is not possible on Terns and Dahons as the tubes are 41mm. I installed my old Deore RD and modified a bracket for the FD cable with a barrel adjuster from an old RD.

If you spend a bit more for the 9 speed shifter and also a new 9 speed cassette, you can mod to 9 speed direct or 18 speed in all. thumbup.gif

First the Shimano 8 speed trigger shifters.

user posted image

The Prowell double crank, off course one can buy super expensive cranks but this will do for this bike as weight is not a criteria. Also the Microshift clamp on FD.

user posted image

The Deore rear derailleur. Have to be careful of the long cage though when riding on the 52T by 32T.

The modified cable routing for the FD.

The barrel adjuster on the modified bracket bolted on the bike stand's bolt.

Bro Ettige,
is there any mini velo MTB? Full sub?
*
A velo is a race bike and mini velo means a mini racing bike, so I doubt there's a full sub mini velo as as there's no full sus road bike. tongue.gif I might be wrong but I think I am right. HAhaha.

They shodded it with a 26 inches suspension fork. It kind of heightened the front end, making ridng uphill hard. blush.gif

---

i have an issue - i have a Velo VL1200 saddle and that gave me a sore ass, after riding 4km plus i think ...

any idea what should i get to make my bum bum less painful?
*
The 1st stage is a flat pleasant kampong road. The only uphill is just at the last 500 meters to the Semenyih junction.
From there, we can gauge if you want to continue or not as you still have to think about the return journey.

As for the sore ass, even me, after so long still have it on some long rides. There are so many factors, wrong position, pushing to hard or just plain unsuitability of the saddle. Some manufacturers says the less conatct with the ass is better, hence smaller and narrower saddles and some says plush and bigger is better. In the end, only your butt knows. tongue.gif

First time posting here..just wanna share that I've gotten myself the China-version of the Hummer @ RM900
Rode it around my house and Bukit Cerakah last weekend...so far so good

I'm about 5'10" and weighing at least 110kgs laugh.gif

Other having my bum hurt...everything was okay with the bike..easiest way to identify replica/fake is at the tube..where's there's the huge "X" logo..it should be written as "Montague Military Technology"..

Instead..mine is "Montbike Military Technology" laugh.gif

Perhaps there are 99% other replica/fakes out there
I just started my first ride at Bukit Cerakah last Saturday..planning to keep going every Saturday..need to keep fit sweat.gif
*
Bukit Cerakah hs some killer slopes especially to the camping site and dam. tongue.gif

You ride in Bukit Cerakah and you say Hulu Langat cannot. We are doing 1st stage only and only maybe up to the landslide part. The slopes here not as tough as Bukit Cerakah. They are longer only. tongue.gif

will definitely need to relook the saddle issue .. need to get some tools to open them up

Only tools you need for saddle is usually an allen key. tongue.gif Unless it's the old fashion type like my Eco C7 formerly where there's a serrated clasp which needs a spanner.

Hi May i ask what u mean by: The Deore rear derailleur. Have to be careful of the long cage though when riding on the 52T by 32T.??

Cos i plan to change my chainring from 42T to 50T or 52T.. any advice?

TQ.
*
Those mountain bike's long cage derailleurs when extended to accommodate the chain is almost touching the rims and also the clearance from the ground is quite near. Since the setting is used only on extreme low gear (for hill climbing) the speed is not going to be fast, so it is quite OK.

As in your case, the change of the chain ring does not really affect the RD but you have to make sure the chain is long enough as the diameter of the 52T chain ring is bigger.

Hohoho tongue.gif I can tell you the Maxxis DTH is good thumbup.gif By the way, the ECO 7 that Samo saw was mine. Then again our Mr. Samo has 6 foldies! 2 jet streams that was shodded with the Maxxis now and he uses the Jetstream if there's an offroad route. Others he and wife use their new Terns. Don't know about the Speed P8 and the MU 16 inch. icon_rolleyes.gif

Try their english version. Also very susah to order. Their English description is out of this world. You punch in hubs and no results but punch in 'flower drum', at least a few hubs appear. Have to really crack your head to find things you want. tongue.gif

i dont mind gettin wet by de rain
i'll only put the backpack raincover on n im gud to go
if rain only ok la
if got thunder boom boom i tink i'll wait
haha
ah
i had a confession to make
i use wd40 to clean n to lubricate de chain oso  sweat.gif
huhu
but i didnt use brush tho
im using a baju buruk to clean all de grease
before dis i only clean de grease using some sabun i dono what
found it in kitchen cabinet
n afte clean i didnt use any lubricant
cuz im using ktm komuter n bagged it in de bag
so i don want de grease to kena anywhere (i tot it was a gud idea back then)
or else de ktm officer got points to not allow me bring de bike
but then after a while
de crank feels tighter(not in a gud way) n heavier
need mor effort to cycle than normally do
so i guess i still need to lubricate em chain
haizzz
why wd40?
errr
its written there it can lubricate
n cuz its kinda cheap oso (i tink dis is de main reason, hehe  tongue.gif )
those who want cheaper can use singer oil, hehe
n somemore it is spray type wit de long stick nozle
convenience n no mess  thumbup.gif
i only meant to use it as a lubricant at first
but then when i spray at the chain
all de grease come off
hell dis is gud
2 in 1 eh?
but of course
dis is only me
a cincai guy
n de chains, cranks, freewheel is all cheap bodoh one only
if use highend grupset
myb i'll use a proper degreaser n lubricant
hehe
if use 3,4k grupset hell i wana use em for a lifetime too  tongue.gif
hehe

cheers
*
I use a chain grease found at Ace Hardware. Silicon based! thumbup.gif But kinda dirty after long use. Normally, I just put the bike on rear stand and then use a rag and dipped in diesel and grab the chain while cranking it. I do until the chain looks clean and then apply a fresh coat of the lubricant.

Groupset might be 3K to 4K but a good chain is about RM150 which might last you a year maybe two. Should be OK to change when needed after all if you do as the guy in Youtube does, you might even loosen the pins which makes the chain perform worse.

was surveying some foldable..got a quote on

dahon visc p18 2200
dahon mu p27 2500

are those price reasonable, kinda noob on this.
*
I would go for the MU P27 but if you don't like internal gearings (there's a 3 speed internal hub gear) , you can go for the Visc P18 PROVIDED if they change the rear derailluers to a Tiagra unit. The 9 speed Neos tend to break apart after a few rides. It happened to many Visc and most of them change to a Tiagra RD. biggrin.gif The change should also be borne by LeRun and I think it's fair.

Ordering online, hmmm...... pictures doesn't give a real impression of the saddles. Try visiting bike shops and take a look see, look see. Selle Royal has man specifics, woman specifics and also for both sexes. It is stated in the cards displayed. Rodalink has the most range. It's slightly expensive but you can get the model description and ask your favorite bike shop to order.
