i think it depends on which RS servers you are connected to download.. i can have one RS server which downloades over 150K and another barely over single digit K

I m a free user of RS. If I buy the premium acc, what DL speed do I get? Is it still depend on our local ISP?

I'm using the IDM now...cause got time functions...so can download during happy hours...yippy...

I also checked with other upload/download gurus form other sites....looks like RS is the way to go (other than paid torrent)...yes, the speed can be terrible most of the time, downloads are capped...but end of the day...its better in most ways...

Previous max accumulated is 12gb...they just up it to 15gb...so if you wan 15gb..you have to wait a few days for it to accumulate.

My main DL is still torrent. As I still new to this RS and so far one website I can get RS file, it still not justify for me to pay for premium acc. And is it RS limit to 2.66gb max perday limit DL? Can I get more than that?

If you get new account, daily will be 2.66gb.....but take note...it doesn't mean 2.66gb....I've encountered MANY times a simple 2gb file can go up to 6gb after all the pauses and disconnections...I'm not kidding. If you are downloading a 1.2gb file and you only have 1.5gb left for the day....bite your fingernails it goes through...most of the time...it doesn't and you have to wait another day to dl.

Justify or not for premium account depends on you...if you are playing with 700mb DVDrips than its OK, but if you are into X264, gaming, DVR, mkv, vc1 etc...all those HD stuff, the current premium is not worth it...trust me...some of use are even using 2 RS accounts.

If its 10gb daily downloads its worth it for heavy users...if you want those...start googling and email to resellers...you might just get lucky...and make sure that bloke is a 'reputable' reseller.

Regarding the connection speed...if you are using a streamy 1mb package...most of the time you will be abt 180KB/s...but sometimes RS slows down too..thats why got lots complaining in here

The site I dl normally will breakdown the file to many pieces rar. So I can choose how many file to dl/day. But the bad is some rar file are corrupted. It is better to dl in one whole piece. With 2.66gb max perday as you said, than I get less dl perday compare to torrent.
After a week I observe dl RS file as free user , I can dl average 2gb 24hr. The linit is because this stupid time 15min counter delay every finish dl.
This compare to torrent dl average 4gb+ 24hr. If as a premiun user don't have 2.66gb limitation, than most probably I can get more than torrent dl.

It is me or is rapidshare down atm?

1st...I never breakdown how many files I wanna dl....I usually download all the parts...as you can see...rapidshare account if not extend the account it will be deleted....so example you have downloaded 1/2 of it...and wait for a few more days to download the rest...then that guys account gets terminated...you have wasted alot of traffic left.

So far downloading I've only encountered 2 cases of corrupted rar file...but thats easy...just use the rar repair functions.

If you are downloading 2gb in 24hrs that is ultra slow.
Normally, for 700mb movie file, it gets downloaded in 1.5hrs
So without the capped limits...you would have downloaded 16 movies..
But with the cap...abt 3 movies only. BUt if you make use of the Happy hours of limited 8 hours = 5~6 movies...hehe, I might be wrong.

End of the day...Its no harm trying, after all, for 1 month it cost only RM20 ++...if dun like it...no need to use RS anymore..

dis acc will receive 10gb daily traffic til date of expiry/date of when u ask for extension..if let's say i dont use my traffic for today (10gb i keep), it will stack up with next day's limit (which of course 10gb as well).. but since they implement stacking to 15gb only..if >2 days no download,it will stay 15gb unused traffic..those ppl who get dis 'old' acc (like me.. ) always try to use the 10gb they give,so that no wasting occur..

now,if (B)...read up!
dis acc will get ONLY 2.6gb per day..kinda low eh?stacking rules still apply,u can save the traffic by not using it..lets say i havent use my limit for three days, 2.6gb x 3days = around 7.8gb..so,to get the 15gb max accumulated traffic, dont use ur acc for 6-7 days..gud for those who been outstation for a long time i guess..

anyway,the point is,you can save ur traffic to be used later another day..

now,4 those who get the type(B) acc,u can use the HappyHour ruling...9am to 5pm our time,when u download files,it will only charge 10% of what u download... 700MB files (usually dvdrips) only cost u 70MB of traffic..queue them up,and download them during these times to get even MOAR!!! MOAR!!!
