guys. would like to seek your advise on the fuel consumption.

when i collected my auto waja cps on wednesday, the salesman gave me full tank (in fact the needle was slightly above the full mark).

now i did almost 340km, the needle is now at the 3/4 mark. the car is usually driven in city. seldom rev above 3,000 rpm.

is this normal? coz i read previous entries, some guys can do more than 550 - 600km on full tank in city!

campro guzzles more fuel than 4G18P.. with my 15" rims, i could make it close to 800km on a full tank of 50 litres or RM90.. futhermore, the tank of the waja is somehow "V-shaped".. when ur needle is on top (at Full), it'll slowly come down.. when it moves past half towards empty, then it's a fast drop.. sweat.gif

p/s : ur car is brand new, it is de-tuned with a rich mixture (more fuel).. this is for the "running-in" process of the engine.. when u send the car for the first service (1000km), they'll tune the car to their appropriate A/F ratio.. u'll notice significant power after 5000km.. brows.gif

++++++++++

wow bro, seriously? i tot many ppl said CPS is better fuel economy in all waja range? so i am assuming you own the mitsubishi engine waja manual transmission, eh? drool.gif 800km... highway is it?

oh ok, so meaning in my coming 1000km servicing, i can expect a better fuel economy la? rclxm9.gif

*
wah bro, ini sunggoh merangsangkan oooorr drool.gif tat means u can easily reach 600km on full tank. fully in city or highway?

*please tell me my CPS can do better than that* sweat.gif

Quite difficult to get that figure because of the urge to revv it till redline...  brows.gif laugh.gif But with really conservative driving, I can get 700km before the warning light turns on.
*
hey spiroth, i see u are CPS owner too thumbup.gif

so did u encounter this slightly higher fuel consumption before your 1000km & 5000km service?

anyway, yours is Auto or Manual? how's your current consumption like?

city and highway... that was when the petrol was at rm1.92

didnt bother to calculate after they hike the price.
*
yalah u said 16-17 sen / km and that was 1.92 ringgit per liter. now 1.80 per liter, means even better mileage la!

di mana kah keadilan untok CPS??? doh.gif

sorry to interrupt. if i am not mistaken, to get the optimum result, campro variant need to be driven in certain higher RPM range to get the best out of it. a friend of mine who own a waja cps auto told me he could run over 700km on full tank(80% city and 20% of highway driving). stock waja with no midification.
far cry from my old stock waja auto which only cover slightly more than 550km before the warning
light turn on sweat.gif

after the 1st service and run in... your new car should be able to return a better fc. thumbup.gif
*

[/quote]

higher RPM, eh? coz previously i was driving auto kenari, so consumption is proportional to how much i tekan.

oooh so usually how much RPM to achieve optimum FC la? i no need greedy one, gimme 600km ++ also i happy already. icon_idea.gif but mind u, i just collected last wednesday. so the total mileage now is only 370km.

Hey dude, your situation same with me. I got my waja cps auto last month. its been 1 month and the millage 1500km+. Full tank i only can go around less than 500km. 50 liters/RM90+. Im using shell petrol. never use others. im only driving at night and always go to putrajaya using mex highway (city or highway?)

weird, waja cps is not that FC.
*
apparently alot of sifus and sichehs said this is actually a common thing wor. running-in session, so do expect slow fuel economy improvement. it will become better as it approaches 5,000 km (yes, liama ribu biggrin.gif )

please do remember to check your tire pressure. when i first collected my car last week, i felt the steering was heavy, but i tot it is normal. yesterday i refuel at shell (after finishing full tank about 380km), then i pump my blardy tires. all around 24 psi only! niamagehloumei arrr vmad.gif .

so i pumped about 32-33psi liao, and went on highway, so far i see better mileage lor, got improvement.

and one more thing, before your first 1,000km servicing, did u hantam ur pedal until 3 - 3.5k rpm or not? or did more than 110km/h? it is not good wei

Just revv all you want, no need to 'pantang'. If got problem, it can be found earlier. Easier to claim warranty. I straightaway rev to 7k rpm the momentI drove out of the SC after collecting my car. Even my SA also said the same thing.

P/s: if you went to Proton tech day last year, there's a machine that do the break-in for our engine before it is mounted on the chassis. And not to mention the test engineer who will whacked your car to check for problem before it got it 'LULUS' sticker.
*
waaah 7k rpm arr? so animal meh? sweat.gif tak sanggup la. this is my first car, i treat it like my virgin wife on my first night.

*
wah ini sudah kurang betul ni... city driving jam kau kau ar?

ya the waja fuel needle is very special one. u go up slope, u see more fuel, u go down slope, u see less fuel. u swerve left, see less fuel. swerve right, see more fuel.

i love it best when i swerving right going up slope icon_idea.gif

i can get around 500km with the same amount of fuel with auto (recently came back from traveling)... but that's highway driving lar...

pain in the ass also cos u have to maintain 90-100km/h speed and 2,700 - 2,800 rpm only. the road is so straight and tempting that once in a while i rev up to 160km/h... biggrin.gif
*
100km/h? cannot la bro... even at 130 km/h also like no rasa. too smooth tongue.gif the cruise control abit funny lor, i pushed up a few times suddenly auto rev till 4.5k wah scared the living $hit outta me, faster i go disable it

u mean waja 1.8? apparently that model has got alot of problem with engine. that's the reason Proton ceased 1.8 model for waja. am i right, brothers?

stay away from 1.8X. they had been discontinued. better buy new waja CPS if you have the money. Otherwise old ones with mitsu engine should be fine
*
setuju 101%! waja CPS so many goodies;

i) xenon HID lamps
ii) retractable side mirrors
iii) leather seats
iv) sports rims
v) gear shift like mercedes
vi) remote control boot

but most importantly;

16-17 sen / km !!! rclxms.gif

all for RM 61k only (maybe now even more cheaper. and try to threaten the salesman to give you the GPS)

*
16 sen/km is based on RM 100 = 592.9 km. but it was 50% highway 50% city la.

now starting to become fluctuate already, 16 - 17 sen per km.

is it better to service my car at SC or any workshop?
You guys got any workshop to recommend around Kota Damansara/Subang Bestari area.
*
just dont go to mutiara d'sara service center. they will tell u "steering alignment can't do coz machine down".

"paint touch up cant do today coz no paint available"

niasing then better close shop la. summore pandai pandai add some so-called wiper washer fluid ( i think few drops only ) but auto charge me RM 5.

the next 5,000km i will start to tiao them left right center. mad.gif

eh u guys heard before of these bantat mechanics shortchanging u, never change engine oil for u coz they will take ur new engine oil and sell outside?

so nice lah the goodies when u get waja cps...sadly cannot afford la to owe bank for loan..my 2001 waja finish loan in 2007...seven yrs pay bank now car value around 25k only...huiyoo.

anyway,wanna ask waja(a) 4g18p 2001,drive 120kmh rpm at 2700..ok or not?
*
whaT?! my cps auto already 3.1k rpm at 120kmh. if 2.7k rpm is around 95kmh la. tat means u easily hit 700km on a single full tank liao!

now i got one issue;

yesterday i went up to genting in the middle of the night. then came down after two hours. then i noticed there's a squeaking sound whenever i go thru some uneven surface.

when i reached home parked the car, i pressed my bonnet. no sound. pressed front left panel, no sound

BUT PRESSED FRONT RIGHT PANEL, GOT THE SAME SQUEAKING SOUND. AND THE PANEL SEEMS TO BE SLIGHTLY LOOSE. WAT THE HELL??

can i demand Proton Edar Service Center to get it done?

This one for sure can claim to SC..i suspect the mounting is not properly oiled. Complain also about your Panel..

For me to to this better go to Service Agent (SA) rather than SC, coz SA can claim to proton-edar to do warranty repair..
