i have the tok tok sound on front and rear...could be the welding spot.

btw, u did not provide link la?
*
lol...i have both the nyek nyek sound (back), and tok tok sound (front)

the tok tok one sounds like something is gonna break soon....especially when making turns

b48753, hope u're mechanic fren can help me tomorrow

edit: also forgot to mention, when the car is not moving too long, the temp goes up immediately and then the aircon dies, when start moving again, den the temp drops immediately and aircon starts backup.

in my noobie opinion, can't be temp rite? how can the temp go up so fast and down so fast in such a short period.

2nd edit: reason i came to this conclusion is because last time when alotta electronic things are switched on, (lights, ICE, demister), u can slowly see the temp meter inching up. then when i switch off one by one, u can see the meter dropping slowly. bloody silly isn't it

wats PDT?

if PDT shows same as gauge, means it IS the actual temp, yes?

den why when i switch on lights and other electronic things, the gauge slowly rises accordingly and vise versa?

but now, that doesnt happen anymore. Now everytime car is stationary, gauge shoots up, aircon dies. moving, shoots down, aircon starts.

i apologise if i'm asking too much. just that i'm curious to know what zenwarlord and others think b4 i hear the mechanics side of the explanation

perhaps it started off as a wiring problem?

the wiring problem then messed up the radiator fan or water pump?

does anyone know the explanation behind the aircon dying when temp is up and starting up again when temp is down?

the aircon did not dead, it's the radiator too hot for the aircon to give u cooling air. The radiator hot temp travel via orifice tube (aluminium hose) to your cooling coil. And the high temp causes the cooling coil fails to bring down the temp, therefore the blower only blows the ambient air instead of cool air.

That's the reason when radiator fan or aircon fan malfunction your aircon is hot and while ur moving it will cools down a little.

it makes sense now...

so faulty wiring may cause the radiator fan to stop working...

amazing zenwarlord, hats of to you

another thing to note, the temp gauge and aircon won't starting acting up immediately when the car is started for the first time of the day or after a long period. it only occurs after maybe 10-20 mins of driving

well no worries with that. if the car dont heat up, means no smoke coming out, it is ok, i have that problem.
temp goes up to 120 red zone, but nothing happen to the car. then the fan blows all the way if u drive the car, keep it moving the temp will come down.

anyway i got it fixed. problem ? came from the grounding wires, the nuts connecting to the chasis was rusty, get that done then it never goes up again

grounding fault.

Added on January 9, 2009, 6:42 pmi also wanna do a survey here how many parts were being replaced during the period of time u use the car

here is the list of things that was damaged
2001 model, MMC engine,

1)driver power window
2)both radiator fan >100K millage
3)3 door handles
4) compressor, i kena ketuk, spent 600 bucks on the denso model
5) my time on dashboard, bulbs. never bothered to change, change too many times
6)suspensions, all 4
well thats about it i can think off.

i also have the ngek ngek problem at the back and tok tok problem infront, drivers side, during turning also.
i think it is the manufacturing problem,

modifications ?
K&N drop in
mid sec replaced,
now wanna change to 4-2-1 extractor.

grounding wires eh? i'll keep that in mind when i go to b48753's regular workshop tomorrow. Ur symptoms are exactly like mine, shoots all the way to 120 deg. redzone, but no sign of overheating.

feel abit comforted now that i'm not the only one having these plethora of problems.

however, ur aircon didn't die on you right? so chances are mine is more than just grounding wires. how did you or ur mechanic find out it was grounding wires? i'd assume this is a very difficult problem to pinpoint

mine is 2001 model mmc engine as well.

it's scary to see how many similar replacements i have with you. except for compressor.

edit: No mods except for ICE

2nd edit: If the 120 deg. redzone reading WAS accurate, the car wouldn't be running long right? I was able to have those temps in a traffic jam for 10-15 mins and the car was fine (except i was sweating like mad cuz no aircon lar).

This morning settling problems of Gurdian's Waja. Hope no further problem on overheating. smile.gif

I wanna thank b48753 for his patience and guidance in fixing my overheating waja.

Even though b48753 had work to do on Saturday, he spent the whole morning with me all the way to the afternoon about 3-4pm until my waja fixed. He even took the time to explain and educate me on a car's engine and everything related.

His friend's workshop and all the other guys working there were toiling so hard to get my car fixed, and all were friendly and well-mannered. (I even got 2 free gifts, lol)

Although money had to be spent, I'm relieved and happy that my temperature gauge isn't hitting the ceiling anymore, so far the temp is fine, and my aircon is cool as ever, stationary or moving.

Many many thanks again to my bro b48753, who went all out to help someone he barely knew.

Once I'm done saving money, we go fix my absorbers ya? who knows, maybe change air filter and 4-2-1 too? lol tongue.gif

Check the sound on stabalizer link if you are only having this sound on rough terrain. the stabilizer link always give the problem. Look for the Japan 1 cos it's re-oilable. =)

that's interesting...

my tok tok DOES come only when the terrain is abit rough and bumpy. Other times no sound.

Thanks for the info.
