Anyone here driving 4G18P Auto whereby suffering from the 'not solid' rev sound ? It sounds like the internal going to burst. Other than installing sound proof anything else we can do ?

Extractor ? K&N ?

Would like to repeat my questions.
1) Is there any CPS face-lit conversion kit available in the market ?
2) There's "tok tok tok" sound coming from the lower right bumper there after having the car tow to workshop. Should it be bushing ?
3) Is half pearl white colour easy to maintain ?

Thank you.

the aftermarket from proton is available, but very expensive. if u can find any oem parts, please tell
believe us, u dun want that engine

the renault engine is not suited for our climate, and is bloody expensive to maintain. plus, proton people dunno how to repair the engine

best bet is to have the car sent to tan chong ekspres auto service - nissan and renault dealer

the only good thing about the car is the drive-by-wire technology, cruise control, leather upholstery, abs, ebd, airbag

You're looking for those conversion kit also ? drool.gif
I saw someone selling original CPS headlamp with HID for 1.6k. Damn pricey. doh.gif
You did your headlamp DIY yet ?

What's that?
Because it got levelling function, which is cheaper that the one sold by R3 that don't have that function.

With that amount , I guess we can afford a more reliable Philips HID set already. nod.gif

alot of ppl commented the simolta have good air flow and I agree with that as the filter have lots of holes. Take 1 unit and see under the lights, u'll be able to see a ball pen size hole all over the filter.
*
Couldn't believe about those hole , gosh.
UTR you mentioning is Ultra racing filter ?

zenwarlord : Mind share what bodykit you guys using ?

I guess is not ultra racing, but the brand is UTR.

I'm using mix and match type, but i would suggest u use PU material for skirting as it's robust compare to fiber.
*
Where can we get UTR brand filter and how much yea ?

Anyway , any recommendations of bodykit workshop in Ipoh ?

QUOTE(lucifah @ Jun 19 2009, 02:37 PM)
yeah... i'm looking forward to update the car looks on the cheap. wanna do the leather seats, the new cps 5-button, the cps hood and bumper, smoked headlamps and lastly the m5 style led rear lights...

now, only managed to get new pesona wheels, sprayed midnight silver (which i think looks the best among all oem proton wheels) to replae my bent wheels

the smoked lamps project pun belom setat. need to know whether i can use orindary hairdryer to melt the glue rather than a heatgun
*
I like CPS hood , bumper with fog lamp and the headlamp too. thumbup.gif

Just went back from Proton service center today servicing all major parts.

Even after the service , my car still feels heavy compare to my brother second hand waja with the same year manufactured. Both auto transmission. His car rev up easily while mine like going off slowly.

I'm not too sure if his car has change the crank pulley , spark plug , but his car definitely feels lighter and the engine doesnt not sound like mine. sad.gif

Would really like to know how many of you guys send your car for sound proof ? and did you guys change the crank pulley ? ( with or without harmonic dampener )

Thank you.

Maybe your brother already done the exhaust upgrade.  brows.gif

I'm using lighten crank pulley (the one with dampener) and the rev is easier below 2k rpm. But I suggest you do the exhaust 1st (if not done already) as it is more value for money.
*
I'm not sure if the previous owner changed the exhaust set-up before , but the muffler already changed to single twin pipe type , very sporty. blush.gif
Any recommendations for exhaust set-up ? 4-2-1 , twisted bullet ?

How much you changed your Crank pulley ? drool.gif

I presume all the exhaust is standard, if during idling your steering is vibrating then it's due to engine mounting, changed all 4 and it solve ur problem.
*
Zenwarlord : Do you think it's adviseable to check the muffler for a 7/8 years old car ? Removing cat converter and change it to bullet ? I have no idea on this at all.

lucifar : thanks for the comment , will definitely think twice before getting it. Is there any picture to share for the persona rim that you mentioned ?

Added on July 9, 2009, 7:32 pm

check ur coil pack, plug and tune ISC.

Added on July 9, 2009, 7:37 pm

get aerospeed, redline, zerone, Jasma and all of those around RM300, while Mythelogy RM600+. try mudah.cm there're plenty.

Read that some crank pulleys without harmonic dampener will damage the timing belt while some says that is the installation process that damage it instead.

P/s : asked so many questions yet not done a single thing yet after service from proton center. blush.gif gotta save up more moolah. nod.gif

Could any one give me suggestion on what to replaced with the cat-con ?

I thought of installating twisted bullet , but kweng said that it's much better to install a mid-box with filter/chamber instead and do you all think that it's necessary to change the piping ?

I'm looking forward to replaced the cat-con with mid-box/twisted and rear muffler , any opinion guys ?

cat-con if removed, it will be very noisy. but u will notice a significant power increase. and in turn it will help to lower fuel consumption.

just taroh a straight pipe la. dont pusing twisted here there liao.  nod.gif
*
Mine one is automatic transmission , storing some backpressure is always good for low end ( as what I read ).
Unless it's a manual , then straight pipe should be no problem. ( correct me if I'm wrong )

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Aug 9 2009, 09:45 PM)
maintained ur piping size.
*
Basically I doesn't need to touch on the piping like change to stainless steel and so on right ?
So all I need to do is putting a High flow mid box + chamber/filter and change the rear end muffler, that is aye ?

Would you recommend go for mid box or twisted bullet and anyone know usually how much it will cost for mid box and rear end muffler ?
Thank you all in advanced.

QUOTE(silverbolt143 @ Aug 10 2009, 02:17 PM)
last few days, my 6 years old car start giving me weird problem which rarely heard from any wajarian.....

it was the reverse sensor and reverse lights....now the reverse sensor and reverse light seems doesn't activated whenever i engage reverse gear....i only realised that when i bang into parking wall inside basement parking (reverse parking)...my sensor doesn't produced any sound which made me felt the wall still far away, then suddenly bang!!!! i was like SH*T!!!! vmad.gif ....luckily i wasn't 'bang' into a car and it just like a minor 'bang' only  sweat.gif  sweat.gif ....

at first thought i suspect my reverse sensor malfunction already or going weirdo (coz i just finished washing the car before that)...but then i noticed my reverse light also not turned on when i engaged reverse gear rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif ...after several attempts of re-engaging my reverse gear then the reverse light & sensor working as usual....

now each time before i reverse, i have to ensure the lights & sensor is activated....if not, i'll keep on re-engaging the reverse gear until the reverse light & sensor working...it's annoying, i cannot afford to do that in emergency situation or rushing time....it's also dangerous if i reverse without the reverse light coz anyone behind me may not aware of my actions.....

my car is manual 4G18 engine...anybody happen to experienced the same thing and have DIY solution??? icon_question.gif
i don't wanna bluntly head to EON on Proton Edar which may end up my gear box being dissemble to diagnose the problem and get con sweat.gif  laugh.gif
*
Just bring your car to accessories shop , it's just the reverse wiring/thingy malfunction. Happen to me once for my wira. smile.gif
Less than fourty bucks if not mistaken.
