I guess Arsenal requested for the extension because they're trying to sign Arshavin or they're trying to sign someone else.

One of the best Facebook status updates I've seen today said this: "does not know if Arshavin is a real person, or just some sick and twisted made up being to torment my life..."

QUOTE(Izzat.G @ Feb 3 2009, 02:25 AM) That might actually happen really because I think the transfer window has been extended till tomorrow because of the weather conditions and Arsenal are reportedly one of the teams who requested the extention. How sure are you sure that they requested an extension? I mean come on, we all know the deal itself is ridiculous. 15m for a euro 08 star? Hell, no way. We might be over-paying for a player. AW should be smart enough to be patient. Zenit is asking to much. They should really go look themselves properly in the mirror. |

QUOTE(longpants @ Feb 3 2009, 02:28 AM) How sure are you sure that they requested an extension? It was confirmed earlier by Sky that the FA had received a fax from Arsenal regarding a deadline extension. I mean come on, we all know the deal itself is ridiculous. 15m for a euro 08 star? Hell, no way. We might be over-paying for a player. AW should be smart enough to be patient. Zenit is asking to much. They should really go look themselves properly in the mirror. 15m is just about right. Arshavin is class and if you have been following Zenit's games through last season's UEFA Cup and their UCL games this season on a regular basis then you would know. Too good a player for a team like Zenit. |

QUOTE A Zenit spokesman was then quoted as saying that the deal had fallen through, but it appears that, yet again, Arsenal fans may have been guided down a misleading path. As confusion continues to surround the status of the deal, Zenit general director Maxim Mitrofanov insists talks are still ongoing. “The clubs have a mutual desire to complete the transaction,” Mitrofanov told Sovetsky Sport at 5.40pm. “Negotiations are continuing.” It is anticipated that Zenit will soon issue a statement to finally confirm whether the Russia playmaker has joined Arsenal. source |

I'm watching Skysports right this instance and the reporters at the Emirates stadium are saying everything has been done (i.e the fee, paperwork, medical, etc). And from the reporter's words, Arsenal strongly believe that the deal has been done.
I dont know what to believe already. |

Right now, I'm just hoping Arshavin would add something to Arsenal's game if he signs for Arsenal.
