the 4/4 number is the time signature...
4/4 = the upper 4 means every bar has 4 beats. the lower 4 means quarter note(four notes on each beat).. most song use this time signature |

Reading this it's easy ... All the one's mark "X" you just play as according to the chord above while the one with numbers .. just hit it as it follows ...

QUOTE(Chartry @ Jan 6 2009, 03:53 PM) Can anyone teach me how to read this type of tabs? The top left chinese words state the original key(the key that eason chan sing) is 'A' key.and pls help me to translate the info on the top left. thank u In this music piece, it changed to "G' key for guitar playing. 4/4 is the common time signature. Normally you'll see this kind of tab in china or taiwan published book coz they used to write in this way. ok... how to read the this tab.. it's hard to explain here.. it would be better to ask someone to play and show it to u. I will try to explain the basic here.. hope you'll understand. example 1: C chord ------------x--- --------x------- -----x---------- ----------------- x----------------- --------------- Hold the C chord and pluck C chord. Start with 5th string, then 3rd, then 2nd, then 1st string. example 2: C chord ------------x--- --------x------- -----x---------- ----------------- 2--------------- ----------------- Hold the C chord, wait... did u see the '2' there? Now u need to play C chord on B bass (press 5th string 2nd fret). Pluck the notes accordingly. Start with 5th string, then 3rd, then 2nd, then 1st string. |
