IMO, this is for those who want serious portability, like how you'd head down to starbucks while stuffing this into your handbag.
It's no point spending extra just to get a large bulky CQ40 or something, when all you want is just to surf the net outdoors...

QUOTE(yushin @ Jan 6 2009, 05:15 PM) Hmm... I spend 5k to buy a Fujitsu UMPC running on atom. Am I already insane? hahaha Anyway, I like the brushed aluminium look of this netbook. Looks classy. You're not insane enough... I spent 7k to buy a Lenovo UMPC, the Ideapad U110... Though it doesn't run on Atom (it runs on Intel Core 2 @ 1.60GHz)...

QUOTE(dawn152 @ Jan 6 2009, 09:38 PM) OMG, i'm so glad i've held off from purchasing the mininote 1000. this baby is freaking sweet & everything i wish for in a netbook; express card, 6 cell, almost full keyboard, sexy design. i want this NOW, but supposedly it'll be available in march? so long *sigh. i guess i'll have to stick with my ideapad s10 for now (which has almost everything i want except the keyboard is cramped & looks like a toy... and unfortunately, i just bought a 9cell batt for this lappie off ebay just a few days ago). probably will be on sale coming march... tsk tsk Lawl, newer and better stuff are bound to be released into the market... After you buy this mininote, the next one's gonna tempt you, and that's within 6-9months...

QUOTE(JayC75 @ Jan 7 2009, 12:01 PM) Get a CQ20, good price to weight and performance ratio. 1.68kg with DVD writer and Centrino2 processor. RM2199 only. 12.1" Added on January 7, 2009, 12:02 pma side note...if our HP lappy got problem, the shop in front on LY will help us to send to HP service centre in Damansara? can someone confirm it? i check with them 2 weeks back and they said yes, but why HP never highlight this? Do they need to highlight it? It's all standard procedure what. Btw, their service centre is in Bangsar, the HP Tower.

And for reliability and customer service, I'll still stick with the HP Mininote rather than the Vaio... Lawl...

To the Mini 2140 owners: Just asking, do u guys prefer the 2133's design over the 2140? IMO, I find the 2133 better looking...

QUOTE(mfa97 @ Mar 15 2009, 01:49 AM) Actually I am just happy to have finally own it.. Have been frantically being following on its availability for the past month on a daily basis.. Being the first its just bonus, if I were Added on March 15, 2009, 1:52 amI prefer the 2140.. now its end-to-end display, looks impressive and sleeker. But then again, the new 2140 is kinda "boring" in pattern-less silver and black, don't u think so??

QUOTE(paskal @ Mar 15 2009, 03:03 PM) does it look so different? i thought the casing is the same or nearly the same, no? my eyes can't differentiate any visible difference from comparison pics between the 2133 and 2140 on the net. have you even seen the 2140? Yeah I have... Just that I don't understand why HP has to make the design so boring... If only they threw in the 2140's specs and the 2133's imprint design, I'd buy one.

QUOTE(paskal @ Mar 15 2009, 11:28 PM) that's why i just don't get it. the mini 1000 has the fancy design. the 2133 has the ever boring dull brushed aluminium. and the 2140 follows the same boring dull no fancy looking brushed aluminium. i can't see any imprint on the 2133. same ol dull brushed alu But is the gap between the specs huge for both though??

QUOTE(wama1go @ May 12 2009, 11:23 PM) hi guys, can 2140 ram slot and HDD be opened from the back or it's the same like 2133, where we have to detach the keyboard,motherboard..etc? It's the same if not mistaken.. I saw the user manual just a few weeks ago.
