Getting Started

QUOTE(arj @ Feb 8 2009, 01:39 PM) For those of you who hate grains in movies like Black Hawk Down or 300, where it was done so on purpose, try looking for calibration settings on the AVS forum to eliminate them for your particular TV model. After applying those settings on my tv, the grains are barely noticeable from 5-6 feet away from a 40" TV. The trade-off is that the picture looks slightly soft, loose a bit of detail i heard there are going to release a new version of 300 on BD without grain. if that's true, i will be buying that new version of 300.

QUOTE(toratora @ Feb 8 2009, 02:01 PM) IMHO a bit grain in movies is part and parcel of a movie experience yeah agreed.. cos that's what the director /producer intended.. also like those "film 24fps Judder" being removed by 120-200hz type of motion flow type (not to be confused with 3:3 or 5:5 pulldown).. dem fake effect.. looks like filmed on HD Cam instead of 70mm film camera.. dunno if matrix bd, people will adjust their TV cos the movie's too "green" Added on February 8, 2009, 6:51 pmQUOTE(arj @ Feb 8 2009, 04:24 PM) LOL I just found out that there will be Crank 2, coming out in April. QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Feb 8 2009, 09:49 PM) care to elaborate? - PQ - AQ - Loading speed - other value adds Thanks. i dont know to evaluate..but by comparison to ps3,i can felt more sharp and richer color ..loading time also good(w/o BD live)...but only slot for usb is too deep inside. ..since it was profile 2.0,so can expecting more from BD Live function ..(but display on my AVR stated 'STRAIGHT' sound mode(bitsream) n only small wording on the left stated DTS HD MA or Dolby TrueHD..
