QUOTE(roiss @ Jun 25 2009, 09:48 PM) Hi guys! I noticed that my all my disc brakes sound very loud everytime when braking slowly (OEM brake pads). And one of my disc brakes is rusty (in between disc and the joint to the wheel) Is this normal? dont worry its fine......will go away when u drive...the rust appear because during night/morning, the mist or water will cause the disc brake to oxidized..so that is why u will see rust...go take a look on other cars especially after rain and cars like suzuki, nissan, honda also have rusty dots on it... |

QUOTE(d1stant @ Jun 27 2009, 05:57 PM) i've just done my first 1000km service, now my car feels heavier and seems to be like consuming more petrol frm my view...most of the SC pour whole bottle of engine oil (4liters) which its overflow if u check the dipstick....to get a lower FC and lighter pedal feel, reduce the engine oil level between min and max...u will feel the difference....anyone knows why? and i believe the engine oil grade is 15w50/20w50 rite??..... |

QUOTE(d1stant @ Jun 27 2009, 06:12 PM) means I have to drain some engine oil out if its overflowed? I'll check that, and the engine oil the sc recommended me was the semi-syn oil, not sure what code d. relax bro..haha...nothing 1..la....u think the engine so fragile meh?... damn the service guy when checking my tire alignment, ramp my car till 5k rpm. just change the oil filter can d.....but its from my past experience coz they pour the whole bottle and add the engine treatment which causes overflow (show beyond the max line) and the engine cap area has the engine oil marks... now i put between min and max no more oil marks on the cap.... |

QUOTE(ipohmali70 @ Jun 28 2009, 12:40 AM) Yes my SC also pour the entire contents into the engine, which I am not happy about. What is the effect if the oil is way above the max mark? well...effect is higher FC,revving heavier, acceleration heavier coz the crankshaft need to work harder due to overfilled engine oil......and long term might cause leaking seals and more tear and wear on the engine even u use good engine oil........and if u use 20w50/15w50....well...the FC sure high as well plus with the over filled oil.... Not only that a couple of days after my 1st service, I noticed that oil is leaking from the oil filter. Apparently they didn't tighten the thing tight enough and it made a mess of my porch. Now after the 2nd service it seems I have fresh oil marks on the porch again. Sighh..... I am so disappointed with them. Tomorrow I will jack up the car and see if it leaks at the same place. In my 16 years of driving and owning cars this has never happened before. Oil leak from sump yes but not oil leak from a recently fitted original oil filter. just get it drained or change new oil filter at outside workshop and the oil level will drop.....if u notice further, sooner o later the engine cap area will turned into black or having burn engine oil marks due to the over filling which causes the oil to come out from the cap....... just fill it between MIN and MAX line will do...and u will notice lower FC and pickup lighter also........which im doing it now...not necessary to fill until MAX line.... Added on June 28, 2009, 3:35 pmjust change to mobil engine oil semi-sync (RM98) at esso station.....will stick to this engine oil for long....feels good... free dynamo torch light...no battery required...... QUOTE(ipohmali70 @ Jun 29 2009, 01:41 AM) strongly agree.....4liters+addictive is even overfilled...which might cause the seals too leak if you unlucky.... and i believe most/every SC out there pour 4liters which lazy.......... around 3.2-3.5liters is enough and will show between MIN and MAX mark or slighly below MAX around 2mm... |

QUOTE(ipohmali70 @ Jun 29 2009, 06:41 PM) That's total bull. Do ask the SC guy: Where in the freaking manual or service booklet does it says that Proton cars MUST use Petronas oil and if not the warranty will be void?? I use Castrol 20/50 that I brought myself at a spare parts shop near the SC. Cost only RM40. Compare to Petronas Mach 5 same grade it is RM 69!!!! Added on June 29, 2009, 6:42 pm Hmmm loong, if you say Mobil 1 is better the other oils, I might just give it a try the next time. and the SC around my area uses 20w50/15w50.....which is heavy and i prefer 5w40/10w40....so i did my service outside and.... |

QUOTE(d1stant @ Jul 6 2009, 09:47 PM) a question to ask those sifus here, can the manual gear ratio be changed? cause my persona M-line is running at 3000rpm @ 100km/h which is 200rpm above normal(check with my friends) dunno why also. hmmm..dont think so...but for mine..automatic 1st batch is 2800rpm @ 100km.....but sometimes it will show 3000rpm like u going uphill or slighly slope on highways...i think its ok... |

QUOTE(cheeann @ Jul 6 2009, 09:40 AM) if sc also tels u tat camber need 2 change n adjust then u tell him/her either claim warranty on dun touch it cuz every car must have a lil bit of slanting n it's normal~ haha..last time u told me before 1 shop that adjust the alignment facing inside and 1 car corner buang....and the proper way to maintain stability is adjust the tires out abit....to maintain stability... jus here 2 tell u not 2 get ripped off by installing camber nut especially on new car cuz d proper way 2 adjust alignment is using d tie rod not d camber~ |

QUOTE(dARKaNGEl @ Jul 7 2009, 09:49 PM) guys, dunno when, now when my engine is running, someone opens a door and close it, the doors will autolock by itself. happens to all 4 doors, whichever closes, it will lock all doors. normal is if u but not consistent though. sometime does sometimes doesn't. seem like need to slam the door harder and it will trigger the autolock. is this a built in feature or something? any idea? or should i ask the SC to check? release handbrake with brakes step on=autolock activate handbrake down with brakes step on and close the door=autolock activate |
