my car was done at around 1145am, they change the brake pump fluid and also done the "Brake Bleeding"(donno what is this?)...now feel better la,but can say still not very "makan"..... blush.gif
*
change to better brake pads like bendix, rs, or those performance brake pads....really make a lot differences compare to the original fitted...do try it......and if u driving B or M-line, adjust the drum brakes level higher a bit (make the handbrake 3-4click) ... laugh.gif

guys usually at 1st service what kind of engine oil did the service centre use? is it fully synthetic or what?

its ok to use semi synthetic rite...no need to waste money buying expensive oil to drive a normal car tongue.gif
*
semi-synthetic will do...as u will go for 2nd service which is 5000km......so use semi will do....after 10000km..then u can use fully synthetic as it is meant for 10000km per oil change...where semi-synthetic is 5000-7000km...but mostly will say change at 5000km for semi-sync..... brows.gif

Yep, 5k KM service.
Thanks for the advice.

I'm indeed going for a semi-syn first for now. So wondering which is better - Mobil or Castrol? Is Mobil Super S 10w40 good for Persona?
*
im using mobil super s 10w40....so far after 3000km++ of usage still good....u can try it if u want..... brows.gif ...and i will do the next oil change after 6500km or 7000km of usage

Just want to share my disappointment of my persona & proton
Basically what am I going to highlight here are quality issues (again & again..)
I don’t want to write much..just list down the problem from day 1 till now (my persona only 4 months old..why got so many problem!!)  vmad.gif

1. handbrake..can’t fully released..problem solved..
2. both front alloy rim cap came off…bought 2nd hand at tyre shop
3. nyek..nyek sounds from rear seat’s locks..problem solved..DIY
4. the famous clunking + nyek..nyek sounds...the clunking sound still persist with a bit improvement after replace insulator..
5. bad radio reception..no solution yet..get used to it already..
6.  engine hard to start (sometimes) + loud sound engine (like old taxi)..going to replace the IAFM soon (only 4 months old..IAFM out already!)  ohmy.gif
7. noise when braking..problem solved..done brake service
8. faulty of volume controller at steering..problem solved..replace new switch..
9. air cond system sometimes on/off..no solution yet..
10.  interior light faulty..don’t know whether circuit  problem or bulb problem..going to complain at SC soon..  shakehead.gif
11. weird sound while turn down/up window (driver side)..might be power window problem.. going to complain at SC soon..

Not sure whether you guys face the same problem..or I’m just the unlucky one..
Fed-up la with proton quality…  icon_question.gif
*
for me...based on my 1year 7months of owning 1st batch persona
1)no problem
2)solve by getting aftermarket rim cap
3)DIY with tape (normal for persona)
4)u mean when turning left??? i dont care the sound also...
5)mine ok...no problem...not to say so clear...but can listen and most of the time i listen to CD
6)no problem as mine is not IAFM...plain campro 1st batch...i guess is very common IAFM to spoil and turn into lorry/old taxi sound....
7)no problem...sound is due to that original brake pads, replace it with bendix/bosch power plus/rs or some aftermarket well known brand will solve
8)same....mode and reverse track gila gila....lazy to repair...even waja's control is better 7years still can press...this 1 so fast go haywire... yawn.gif
9) no problem
10)no problem
11)no problem

other than that, the interior parts still intact and the parts still "sleeping" hope the parts in the interior wont "wake up" and started to make rattling sound and my driving style would be average and sometimes rough....

yeap...considering i drive all the time 35000km in 1year 7months and quite rough most of the time like sapu corner then heavy braking and going tru uneven road fastly and sometimes when low/small bumps i just golek over at 80km nearby my house if i really rushing...everything especially the interior parts still intact and the parts no rattles....compare to my another waja (7years around 80k km) whole car become musical concert with plastic sounds everywhere and the car driven short distance by my dad last time...

Actually the IAFM is it just to suck in more air  to the engine???

I amaze that when I drive my fren vios, when I come out from the car, it is so quiet even I can hear the fan sound, but still very quiet.

yeap....improve the torque dip 2000rpm-3000rpm.....

I tried out my friend's Vios J spec last night. The ride was hard, my Persona is definitely much better, more comfortable. And I think the sound insulation is not quite ok also, as the tyre roar can be heard quite clearly inside the cabin. Maybe the stock tyre is noisy? Or maybe Persona is definitely better? biggrin.gif
*
u mean vios or persona???......i feel that persona road noise still can be improve further...still can hear tire roar noise.......

Hehe. Already heard lots of complaints on the new Vios's NVH, and a lot would agree that the older Vios rides much better than the new one. Some tried changing stock tires to comfort based but the improvement isn't that dramatic, so I'd guess there's a lot of cost cutting being done on the new Vios.

loong2020, maybe because you're using Michy PP2? tongue.gif Its performance tire so it might be a little noisy. My next tire change would be a pair of Michy Primacy LC! I've done 2 layers of soundproof on 4 doors (SP Mat, Sunway) and honestly there's quite some improvement here. Previously the ride was with a lot of wind noise and traffic noise but now motorcycles just whizzed by without giving you a feeling that you accidentally winded the window down. Now all I hear is the roaring of my NCT5 tires, very very annoying, even at slow speed the tire would just scream as if it has got some tarmac sensitivity problem
*
blush.gif ...u also know im using mich PP2.... laugh.gif ....erm..maybe..la..but my stock tires was conti cc1....i think 70% above is quiet...after that become noisy and noisier....but PP2 so far i think the noise still accepetable..la...but cornering much much smooth and steering response become much sharper when sapu corner... thumbup.gif ...just used 2weeks only da tires...=P..... ur NTC5 sure noisy...compare to silverstone kruizer and conti cc1 da fitted in some persona...but its good that u planning to change michy primacy lc why not change all if ur budget permits??...much silent..lol....its a comfort tire and noise will be lower.... brows.gif ....

btw how much u did ur soundproofing 2layers on the 4 doors???..and where is SP Mat located???.....maybe wana install it...hehe....and does the door feels more solid after installation???....

yeah...vios NVH not really good...i think maybe for J and E spec they cut cost and lesser soundproofing meterials...compare to S spec i sat where is maybe on par with persona or slightly better....but its driven in the city area...highway i dont know whether is noiser or better.... whistling.gif

#7, Need to change the break pad eh? Will do it in my next service.

*
yeap...brake pad problem.....the original sucks...i use 7000km got noise d...change to aftermarket market pads no problem....and im using bosch power plus now..used 10k++ no problem...or better u try RS frm maddriver, bendix, ferodo, or a lot more pads available....try to get those higher temp rating...400-550'c...give u good bitting be it hilly areas or high driving when constantly braking or even drive ur car hard... laugh.gif

for no.4...is common problem....i use to it d...not really can listen da sound maybe immune d... rclxm9.gif

erm...How noticeable is the 'klonk klonk' sound?  if IAFM kong what is the impact? IAFM lifespan so short only meh? All lpersona (B-Line/M-Line/H-Line/SE) using the same module of IAFM?  hmm.gif
*
actually is not spoil...but heard is due to the design problem where after certain time, the IAFM will become noisy.......even saga blm also suffers the same issue....

loong2020,
If it become noisy, then is consider spoil or not spoil? Just become very noisy, but no other impact? Since all persona is IAFM, all will have the noise after a certain of time? Can prevent that?  tongue.gif

Thanks.. smile.gif
*
i think the IAFM still working....this is what i heard from people......prevent it can...wait until proton design a better IAFM....lucky mine is plain campro...no problem..except for lack of pickup laugh.gif

my target either B-line or M-line only bro..
anybody can tell me why i must buy b-line and why i must buy m-line..

any idea??
*
M-line definately better...save ur time adding oem spoiler, original sport rims if u dont plan to change rims, rear bonnet soundproof mat so that it wont look like bare metal on B-line, 4speakers, radio control buttons on da steering, an an airbag for you..its also for ur own safety... brows.gif , electric wing mirrors that save ur time adjusting with just a press of button compare to B-line, foldable seats may not important but lets say one day u want to carry a long stuff or wadeva needed the M-line will save u, and rear headrest for rear passengers where B-line dont have, and also supports MP3 format so u can just burn all ur favorite songs 1 shot and play it rather than conventional WMA format where most also 20tracks.... laugh.gif

so i will recommend M-line......B-line its for those planning to modify a lot.... wink.gif

nope...but the MP3 function is good enough for u..can store up to 100-200songs (depending on the bitrate)...thats why take M-line if budget not a problem..... biggrin.gif
