Wanted to create a topic out of that gamepath so we know what's going wrong with the lagspike on 25-man..

I'm having this problem too, started since last 2 month ago.. before this, raids on BCrusade 25man was awesome and smooth, the only lag is when TMNET international connection were screwed..

And now, I'm lagging on any WoTLK 25-man boss pull only (trash pull were fine I don't know why :S).. 10-man were smooth and there's a topic on wow forum too listed more than 10 pages long with player among US and Asia having the same problem.. Might be our ISP, or might be not, anyone using TMnet / Jaring can post their 25-man experience here?

I have received reply like graphic card issue or computer requirement and no, i'm using quad core and my graphic don't lag, i can walk smoothly around just that everyone is standing still and zoom I'm dead out of nowhere haha..

Strange thing is, I'm the only one on that 25-man raid lagging, everyone seem to be doing their jobs smoothly..

And oh yeah, I tried on my normal streamyx connection and lowerping, both have the same results.. The only thing I haven't tried is Jaring and normal dialup xD

garona and eredar here.. i'm having the same lag while raiding on both server.. btw i just transfered there from frostmourne, which means 25man that i run in frostmourne during bc is smooth.. i'm not sure if it's server related problem on US / Oceanic.. i'm gonna try back Oceanic server to see if it's lag on 25man or not..

As the owner of Gamepath, let me explain more clearly the problem you are facing:

Your data going out ---> Other servers overseas with bottleneck ---> WOW Svr

But if your data going out portion itself is having bad issues, like slow speed or bad line, it won't help. This is because in order to lower latency, all ping lowering services require your bandwidth line to work stable and harder.

The explanation is roughly this. When you connect normally to wow, your data usage would be like 20k/s (example) for 800 ms worth of ping. This is set by your game. But if you use Gamepath, it forces the game to use 40k/s or more instead, thus your ping lowers drastically based on that. Now in the situation of a bottleneck, (internet traffic jam), or bad connection, your connection TO the Gamepath or any other server is unable to sustain the higher bandwidth requirement for better ping, hence you lag.

That is why in 10 man, 5 man grp etc you don't lag, because the requirement is lower than in a 25 man situation where more data is required and your connection somehow cannot reach the requirement.

Added on January 3, 2009, 2:42 amI hope this explanation clears things up for you guys. I don't think any other services will bother to investigate and troubleshoot the problem for you guys nor will they explain it to you.

Generic answer from them is, try changing another server cause they don't want to lose your business and tell you the real issue.

Kindly remember Gamepath is a service for everyone to enjoy and not out to make money from people, most of the payments I get are for covering the cost of operating so many servers for everyone to choose from. No other provider has as many different types of servers as Gamepath.

I hope you can solve this asap man, cause so far my experiences with 25 man on GP have been a tad bit of a disappointment.

My connection shots up to 800ms BEFORE anything starts at all. Once it starts, it'll shoot up to 1k, 2k straight up to 4k moments before I disconnect from the server. This happens just last night on my regular guild outings. I'm happy that I actually made thru one VoA encounter with a T7.5 chest, but the rest of the night is bullshit to say the least.

I've tried plethora of ip ranges. So you can safely discount that into factoring. My solo, 5 man and 10 man encounters have been satisfactory with anywhere from 300~400ms depending on gates. But 25 man is where my guild is concentrating right now and I would like to have a WORKING solution to my current situation. Which I think a good number of people here share as well. I don't mind tweaking the system or anything for that matters. My chaps down in Brunei are having similar problems as well, so umm answers?

I've 2 accounts for one month tryout at the moment and would really like to continue on using your service, but please help us on the 25 content aye?

Thank you.

Well I don't think this problem is all about lowerping/gamepath, as I already said I tried both either on lowerping or on my normal streamyx connection it's still lag the same way in 25-man..

Added on January 4, 2009, 1:51 pmguys i found a way to fixed up my lag.. i set all setting to low while keeping my resolution back at 1440x900 and it's all smooth back -.-

it was hillarious thou, im using 9600gt so it shouldn't be a graphic problem and maybe it's bug between nvidia and the bliz wow code thing.. =|

Hi, as much as I would like to fix this issue, it is a bandwidth connection issue that Malaysian users are facing and thus is out of my control.

Just ran my first heroic Naxx today and had the lag spikes that u're mentioning. One of my guildies pointed out to the links on the technical forum.

First time I've heard that NVIDIA is now providing the laptop drivers directly and not the manufacturers. So, downloading the huge download (123mb).

Am also disabling some of the Vista features that they recommended and will also chase down the SVCHOST.exe.

Added on January 7, 2009, 4:28 pmActually, how is the gameplay on WoW Taiwan and WoW China? Do you guys have the same issues?

my vanilla ping is usually in the region of 600-800 depending on IP...

i started using the registry fix when it was discovered like 2 yrs ago.. it gives me ping of 350-450 depending on IP till even today... i have no problem with connection issue or spike or anything unless sub cable broke..

im wondering does services like LP or GP can further help reduce some more... since LP/GP also using the same tricks.. so is a bit redundant?

could be better especially when ur isp decides to screw up the routings. other than that, not really. to me, couldnt be bothered as my linux box works fine and i dont feel like paying the extra bit for rather marginal gains.

Trying to diagnose an internet connection problem based on GFX hardware/drivers is like trying to solve a stomach ache by buying larger shoes.

that is true, however, if ur having bad fps or interface lag etc, it can and WILL affect latencies.

Well, my point being if you're getting bottleneck issues (very likely if this crops up on bosses and not trash, been there, had that happen to me, etc) it's a network issue.

The other point being it's pretty easy to tell the difference between a choppy framerate or smooth-as-buttocks FPS while everyone runs in place and characters happily channel green fistfuls of vomit, and describe the problem as such.

old/buggy raid/dmg meter/data collection mods will hog up enough bandwidth to screw your latency, and/or cause frequent disconnections.

thats one example.

How is that not a network connection/bandwidth issue? Updating your graphics card drivers won't help that. :S

never ever mentioned anything about specifically graphic issues. and its more towards interface issue than connection/bandwidth issue especially when the problem goes away by simply disabling the said problematic UI.

heck, even for graphics, if ur fps is low (sub 30), you can notice a slight increase in latency especially if ur in heavy population areas (major towns, or raids)

I'm also starting to notice that Gamepath spikes up in large raid settings, forcing me to use normal connections (higher average latency but stable) during weekend pugs. Lowerping on some gates are more stable on large raids, even though they have higher average latency than Gamepath.

Not sure what are the bandwidth requirements on Gamepath is for 25mans though. I can get downloads from warcraftmovies at 80kBps, and I normally turn off everything while playing WoW.
