As the owner of Gamepath, let me explain more clearly the problem you are facing:

Your data going out ---> Other servers overseas with bottleneck ---> WOW Svr

But if your data going out portion itself is having bad issues, like slow speed or bad line, it won't help. This is because in order to lower latency, all ping lowering services require your bandwidth line to work stable and harder.

The explanation is roughly this. When you connect normally to wow, your data usage would be like 20k/s (example) for 800 ms worth of ping. This is set by your game. But if you use Gamepath, it forces the game to use 40k/s or more instead, thus your ping lowers drastically based on that. Now in the situation of a bottleneck, (internet traffic jam), or bad connection, your connection TO the Gamepath or any other server is unable to sustain the higher bandwidth requirement for better ping, hence you lag.

That is why in 10 man, 5 man grp etc you don't lag, because the requirement is lower than in a 25 man situation where more data is required and your connection somehow cannot reach the requirement.

Added on January 3, 2009, 2:42 amI hope this explanation clears things up for you guys. I don't think any other services will bother to investigate and troubleshoot the problem for you guys nor will they explain it to you.

Generic answer from them is, try changing another server cause they don't want to lose your business and tell you the real issue.

Kindly remember Gamepath is a service for everyone to enjoy and not out to make money from people, most of the payments I get are for covering the cost of operating so many servers for everyone to choose from. No other provider has as many different types of servers as Gamepath.

Hi, as much as I would like to fix this issue, it is a bandwidth connection issue that Malaysian users are facing and thus is out of my control.

Seems like you might have international traffic congestion. You might wanna try using our latest SG/MY server especially for these cases.

I'm also starting to notice that Gamepath spikes up in large raid settings, forcing me to use normal connections (higher average latency but stable) during weekend pugs. Lowerping on some gates are more stable on large raids, even though they have higher average latency than Gamepath.

Not sure what are the bandwidth requirements on Gamepath is for 25mans though. I can get downloads from warcraftmovies at 80kBps, and I normally turn off everything while playing WoW.

Looks like either Modem or Line or ISP problem. That means frequent packetloss.

More details on what exactly it is can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Packet_loss

Those are pings to Gamepath (0, 220, 250) , Lowerping (Panda, Tiger), TmNet, Mmo-champ.

Its been like that since New Year, happens every night when the peak hours start (8pm onward etc) all the way until maybe 2-3am

Is there anything I could do about it?
If this continues, its gonna be really bad for raiding 25man content =(

The stability of Msia's ISP is unpredictable and I've ran out of ideas on what else I could do to get stable ping for raids at 8pm-12am nights.
Its like based on luck whether you get a good line or not for each and every day. And I guess, now is the bad period again. sigh
