DUH! he said that he wanted to change a boot cut jeans into a straight cut jeans. Why? Because, the design he liked is only available in boot cut.

Um, TS, cannot go to tailor eh?

its hard to tailor...
coz normally near the knee it will slim down a bit...
probably u will get skinny instead of straight cut

Thats true.
The boot cut jeans especially , the design starts towards/from the knee side.
So yes indeed , it will get skinny look tho.

send it to a well established tailor and then slice some of the fabric off frm knee down as boot cut jeans tend to have the flare. then after that taper it to the width that u want.

which i think not worth it...

im guessing that 10 out of 10 times, the wash/texture/fades/fabric of the jeans that the OP likes came only in bootcut. not the design or the fit of the jeans

i always bring these matters up to my tailor.. because they are the expert, they would know fully on what can and what can not be done.. but do take note that this however should not be a turned into a habit as the purpose of alterations are actually not to redesign the clothes, but simply to create a better fit..

even then I always see different cuts for the same wash/texture/fades/fabric. maybe the OP is being picky. And yes, I look at guys' jeans too because I considered getting some for the boyfriend.
