Taobao is the Amazon of China, only bigger.

Other materials like wool, cashmere? Aren't these hard to come by unless procured overseas?
For a student on a budget and with silk out of the picture, I guess you'll have to stick to the polyester ones for now..

Looks like I missed the show hmm.gif

Anyway, here's my latest purchase while on sabbatical in Malaysia - a Mont Blanc card case. Gonna put in my driver's license, a couple of cards and some Chairman Mao's..

Cesare Paciotti shoes are value for money. He creates timeless unique shoes like no other shoemakers. I like the brand a lot to be honest and it was my first *most expensive* shoes I had paid.

I agree they are unique, but timeless? hmm.gif

For 'only' AUD450 I would get a pair of Crockett & Jones goodyear welted shoes. To each his own smile.gif

Never one for tassels, as I think it's not easy to pull off (unless you're Sean Connery), so hats off to you. I own a pair of Barkers too, solid shoes.

Pretty cool cap, though I imagine wearing it in tropical climates would be a bit too warm for liking..?

Meanwhile, got 2 new timepieces in red boxes incoming (not for me though). Anyone fancy a guess? wink.gif

Atta and Pro are both right. Cartier Tank for the missus and Omega Deville Prestige Co-axial for dad (no pic though).

Saint Laurent boots, interesting......too bad I am not a fashion inclined person, in fact I am quite a 'conservative', ordinary male and I believe many of you can tell by looking at my purchase history.

I am eyeing on a pair of boots with rubber sole, something suitable for a snowy winter, it is either Yuketen, Grenson or Heschung.

I can resonate with this. High fashion escapes me to be honest, most of things I would get on Mr P are accessories like ties, leather goods etc.

The Grenson boots are quite awesome but only large sizes are available. I have a pair of C&J chukkas with dainite soles which serves the purpose on the rare occasion it snows here.

I bought a leather bag from Matchesfashion and shipped by DHL. Tried to find some info on the customs duty and from what I read anything declared above RM500 will get taxed, up to 30%.

In another thread it's stated that
"23. All leather goods incur duties of up to 25% import tax and 10% sales tax. Handbags and other leather bags are import tax free with 10% sales tax"

So apparently leather bags are non-dutiable but incurs 10% sales tax. If it's 30% then I'd be screwed.

Anyone mind sharing experience? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Selecting delivery duty paid to Spore might have been a better option on hindsight. At least you know exactly how much you're paying.

I guess can only keep fingers crossed that the duty will be a minimum. I paid around 3.5k with free shipping so hopefully it will be under 500.

The Barkers look like they have a long vamp, and look a bit out of proportion but that may be due to the angle of photo too.

C&J has increased prices way too much for my liking. The days when Plal was still stocking them, they were slightly above 1k for bench grade models.
