always use the proper tuners.
the fine tuners are called fine tuners cos they fine tune once ur somewhat near the actual note.

Once you learn how double locking FR trems work and how to properly setup and use them, you'll appreciate its tuning stability... On a properly set up trem, you might not have to retune your guitar until the next string change..

QUOTE(Rikipu @ Jan 10 2009, 08:51 PM) ill keep that in mind, thanks. only problem is we have to unlock those locks on top everytime we wanna tune them, guess ill have to bear with it. thanks note that down tuning will cause the bridge to loose tension and start moving close to the body (not balanced). therefore you will also need to adjust the bridge. an FR guitar is really not the guitar to experiment different tunings with. to down tune, you need to:1. unlock nuts 2. down tune 3. check bridge balance 4. adjust springs to compensate lost tension of strings (depending on how much down tune) 5. lock nuts 6. fine tune it's not something anyone would like to bear for too long This post has been edited by zeroglyph: Jan 11 2009, 10:51 PM |
