ive been looking at the LTD M-50 recently, but they might be a bit too metal for my taste, could anyone suggest any other guitars?
I have a budget of 2000 for both my electric guitar + amplifier. Thanks for helping out

hmm.. any dealers in kl where we can try them out? i like to know the feel of them first hand as choosing a guitar is lotsa self-preference xD
Added on January 1, 2009, 11:15 pmand, im just wondering, do the microcube and the marshall amplifiers have enough effects for a beginner? and what about kustom amps? ive been looking at the arrow series 16DFX, any thoughts on that small guy? You can look at ibanez Rg series and Epiphones standard LP with a microcube or marshall amp. Try going around and nego until they give the best price. Compare and pick the cheapest

I have a budget of 2000 for both my electric guitar + amplifier. Thanks for helping out I've just tested the latest Vox VT15 modelling amp (with 22 amp models and 12 effects) and I must say, I'm mighty impressed for an amp around RM600... PM me if you need pricing and stuff. Good luck! |

try get a guitar without a floyd rose bridge...get fixed bridge guitars instead (like a fixed bridge RG or a Les Paul or Squire....at least then you can restring them yourself, unless you plan to learn how to fix strings onto a floyd rose bridge which isn't too hard lar....
microcube is good! |

QUOTE(Rikipu @ Jan 4 2009, 05:47 PM) hi everyone, just got my guitar beginner & FR is not a good combo. you'd do better with an MH-NT. well, i guess it's too late. just try not too abuse it too much because a good licensed FR is hard to come by. |

Agreed. There is an MH-50 guitar in my practice room at Guitar Collection and I fiddled with it for awhile. It feels ok, but like zeroglyph says, the trem goes out of tune quick. I was just playing a bit of For The Love Of God and have to re-tune the guitar after that

alright, i guess so. tuning and changing the strings will be a bit of a problem eh? gonna have to unlock those locks on top and all..

QUOTE(Rikipu @ Jan 5 2009, 03:51 PM) alright, i guess so. tuning and changing the strings will be a bit of a problem eh? gonna have to unlock those locks on top and all.. well it's not a real problem if you know what you're doing. just make sure you use the same string gauge. changing the amount of tension will require you to rebalanced the trem block <-- this is the hard part. |

okay now this sounds confusing... one question, if i wanna tune the guitar down a key or so, should i use the proper tuners on top or the small fine tuners on the trem?

always use the proper tuners.
the fine tuners are called fine tuners cos they fine tune once ur somewhat near the actual note. |

Once you learn how double locking FR trems work and how to properly setup and use them, you'll appreciate its tuning stability... On a properly set up trem, you might not have to retune your guitar until the next string change..
