You... are new to forum right. Anyway no you don't need to install anything to get S(ux)tream(ax)yx to work but you need to set it up though. Before that;
(i) Are you using wireless modem router? I assume it support auto-connect and If its brand new, did you plug in via LAN cable to setup the username and password first before you connect to it wireless-ly? After that just turn on your WiFi and hook up your notebook/desktop(?) to your modem. (ii) If it does not support auto-connect, go to Start (Or the Orb thinggy whatever) > Connect To > Set up a connection or network (Second one at bottom left section) and fill in/select anything required. Sorry I'm really confused with your question asked and my knowledge to modem stuff is really limited but I'll try my best. This post has been edited by N1-C: Dec 31 2008, 12:31 AM |

I don't understand TS 2nd choice.
But if wireless router is auto-connect, by then the security is based on the wireless router itself. |

I think TS is asking whether need to install drivers for wireless adapter OR he is having trouble receiving wireless signal.
If your laptop is old, then you will need a wireless adapter. It may require a driver to work. If you laptop is new, then it should have a wireless adapter. And it should work without any driver installation. You may need to configure your internet settings. As for Streamyx, you will need the username and password unless you are using a router. You need to configure the router settings if necessary using the included software that came with your router. Streamyx on Vista is the same as streamyx on XP. |

TS means that he want to connect wirelessly using his notebook by using TMNET ISP a.k.a Streamyx or roaming others free wireless hot spot...lol, so he is asking is it possible or not. If possible please stated what do it need to connect wirelessly or how to like what hardware needed, how to configure and so on...lol
