Very well... unless you haven't noticed... Perdana Uni Graduate entry medical program will cost RM1MILLION for tuition fee only...

Unless you manage to get govt. scholarship or you are willing to fork out that much money for the program, I suggest you forget about PUGSOM.
With that amount of money, may as well go to UK. If you don't go to London, may even have some spare left.

there are actually quite a lot of people with that kind of money (including jpa scholars, in the past), but unfortunately, you cannot buy a medical degree in the uk.... they cannot get a place on merit....

hence the demand for places in ipts and the likes of russia, indonesia, egypt etc.....
*
You saying our JPA scholarship has such low quality to not able to enter UK uni based on merit? Or was it because their Pre-U education given to them were of such low quality that they can't get sufficient merit?

there are lots of jpa scholars who flunk exams (there was a recent thread [https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3123978] on this here)....and lots of jpa scholars 'did not fly'.....their code for not making the cut to gain entry into the programme of their scholarship, usually critical courses in uk and oz....

we have created a new meaning for the word 'scholars'.....

Just goes to prove what everybody already knew, our selection of scholar is highly flawed like many things in this country. Malaysia could have been one of the great success story of the world but so much wasted opportunities and resources. Such a pity.

truth is so obvious yet they still ponder why those who are skilled and talented are leaving the country. The selection criteria has always been flawed since long time ago. I've heard people getting JPA scholarship to do medicine in UK (of course pre-U first) with just 2As in their SPM.

Hard to believe UK university will accept 2As. Rumors?

Hi, I am 25 this year.

For PUGSOM, i have 2 friends who got in and successfully applied and received JPA scholarship. and so far the statistics show that almost all malaysian who enter PUGSOM managed to get JPA scholarship.

Ya i will look into both the local programs and the graduate entry program overseas.
*
What makes PUGSOM so special that they can get JPA scholarship?

JPA scholarship is actually available for students studying in local gov universities. It is called Biasiswa Program Ijazah dalam Negara (PIDN). I think some private uni also offer JPA to their students.

As for why PUGSOM students can apply for jpa, i believe the reasons maybe political. As you know the fees is 1mil, i guess not many can afford to study there without any sponsorship or loan. sweat.gif

I didn't know that. I thought they only, almost exclusively anyway, given to SPM students and not after you gotten into university. Except may be you got into Cambridge or Harvard or something like that.

it 2a at spm getting jpa scholarship....they still need to do a pre-u and get a place...

That's more like it. I find it very hard to believe UK university will accept medical student with only 2 As in A-Level or STPM. Not unless you are a Saudi prince or with great political connection or something usual.

politics....otherwise, the uni will have collapsed long ago from no enrolment....

it is one of many means of shifting taxpayers money into private pockets...

So how's PUGSOM's quality? Is the name John Hopkin for show or for real?
