As the poll title states, please vote and post your reason of what program is your favorite disc emulation/manipulation program and why is it your choice? biggrin.gif As you should realize, I don't have all the programs listed out. I just listed out those that I've tested.
PS: All that I've tested are shareware/paidware.

Thanks for your comment, very grateful for it. Actually, Nero 5 (damn old) was very good, it loaded fast and have a fast installer. I've gotta use Nero 9 now cause I've got no other option, cause other programs can't do that Nero 9 can. tongue.gif However, I must say that the installer is huge in file size and it takes forever to load the program. doh.gif

I prefer Alcohol 120%...Its the best disc emulator right?? People say its better than Daemon Tools

BTW, you use the softwares to play pirated games right?? Or are there any other uses?

not necessarily. U could decide that u wud rather play a game without the CD constantly there. Make it into an iSO and use Daemon or whatver software to mount it. Or ur own videos.

Yes, it's damn easy to do it. But I won't teach you how to cause it's illegal, sorry.

Let me list down my experiences:

Alcohol 120% & Daemon Tools are good for emulating game protections, and usually most people use it for that purpose. You can create 1:1 copy of the disc image with all protection technique on the image. Good if you're playing original games, but don't want to have your disc damaged by frequent use. Or you could use the No CD/DVD crack.

Nero Burning ROM is the most user-friendly and nice looking burner application ever developed (at least for me). Even you guys said it's bloated etc etc, there's always Lite and Micro version. Just download them and enter your genuine serial number. There you go, a lite and fast burner for less than 50mb.

Ashampoo Burning Studio, to me sucks big time. It can't properly verify my discs after burning. All discs failed to verified when using other burning softwares on the same data, it's a success. Phailed doh.gif

UltraISO is the best one, light and fast and no hassle burner, ISO editor/mounter. Since Nero 8/9 won't work on Windows7, UltraISO works perfectly as an alternative.

Agree that MagicISO is great but free version can't burn from ISO of more than 300MB.

Agree with you. I used to use Alcohol 120% partially emulate the disc but cancel in the building image part so that I just emulate the protection but not the complete disc. It's true the Nero is the easiest to use but my Nero Burning ROM is installed in a package called Nero 9 which is fat! doh.gif I'm not sure about you but my Ashampoo when I tried works perfectly. UltraISO and PowerISO are great.

That's why you should ask Uncle Google for the lite and/or micro edition of Nero 8/9 which (for micro version) only contain the main Nero burner (Nero Burning ROM/Nero Express) and basic audio plugin(s).

for mounting disc images, i prefer Daemon tools. it's very light and hassle-free
for burning CD/DVD from images, Ashampoo Burning Studio works fine
for other image manipulation (creating/editing), I use UltraISO

anyway, I voted for Daemon Tools since i've used it for a very long time and has never failed me before

I use Virtual CloneDrive. Used to be Daemon Tools but it has problems with certain video disk images thus I switched to this one.
