Mass Effect gets my vote. it's a very cool space opera with nice storyline and plot twist.

i have stopped playing JRPGs since i dunno when. i find that there's not much innovation in them. plus the whole story is the same from one to another.

coming close behind Mass Effect are Fable 2, Fallout 3 and KOTOR (heheh.. i know it's not in the list)

i beg your differ but japan will not forget J-RPG tongue.gif

of coz but they are slowly opening up to it.
with the release of fallout 3, i'm sure some of them will try the game and end up liking it.
it has almost all the elements of a standard JRPG from turn based battle (VATS) to save the world kinda storyline.
again, without the androgynous-ness of JRPG's character.

^You need to try some of the classic wrpg...it's like textbook man laugh.gif

wrpg like to emphasize on the role-playing part, what if i do this...what if i do that. Jrpg usually have a fixed storyline & very linear experience.

By the way, alot of you didn't mention what's your favourite. You can't have everything! I know it's hard...I love Fallout 3, Fable 2, Oblivion, Too...many, wut tongue.gif Also, i see another 3 minority...Eternal Sonata, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion & Enchanted Arms - whos that?!

which is why i LOVE planescape: torment.

once the game was on hold at that same screen for 2 hours while me deliberating the decisions that i will make because i know i can't reverse the decision and it will affect the outcome of the game. so i need to be sure about it.

JRPG? hantam saja. ending still the same.

hehe. the only JRPG that i played more than 3 times is FF : Tactics (if you consider that RPG).

other than that, once i know the ending, terus masuk shelf. never touch till dunno when.

thing about WRPG is you can always do run according to different build of your character and select something else to see the outcome. i did it with Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and even KOTOR.

Anyway my interest in WRPG stems from D&D. i was playing D&D long before i found FF on SNES.
thus when games like Baldur's Gate came out, i was ecstatic.

Along the way before i get to know JRPG, i was busy with the Lone Wolf "do your own adventure" series.
that series was fun, portable rpg.

hmm.. i wonder, was there any game ever made from that series?
