Western RPG is practically dead for quite a few years until recently...with the sudden boom in market. So now we have enough variety to cater to all the RPG fans, with 2008 ending in 3 more days. I already try my best to include all the JRPG which I have no clue about it....Vote & Discuss!

For me it's Bioware Mass Effect because of the storyline and the decision you need to make. Love the game theme too, playing the game make my wisdom +10. tongue.gif

2009 is not too shabby for RPG lovers, check out the list below...

We know Mass Effect 2 is definitely coming...just a matter of platform exclusivity. (this is not Too Human Yo!) Hopefully we get to see more RPG announcement like Lionhead new game or even better, Jade Empire 2 announce in 2009 e3~ Finger cross, as Microsoft don't usually announce their game till it's ready to ship.

What's your best one yet on 360 & why?

Looks like Tales of Vesperia is leading.
From my understanding, the thing about JRPG is almost all of it involves level-grinding which has turn into a pre-requisite if you intend to finish the game, when I am being force to do that I am not having fun.

Come on, no more love for Mass Effect? The elavator lesbian sex yo!

I play jrpg for 19 years... no doubt my life are for jrpg.

one of the best in my 360 so far. lost odyssey and tales of vesperia, off 360 console ps3 - dissagea 3 and ps2 - shin megami tensei series.

i'm not really big fan on wrpg.. coz they look more like action adventure games to me.

edit: I bought DS lite recently just to play chrono trigger although I finished it in famicom.. but it was worth for the sweet memory.

I only owned Lost Odyssey, Fable 2 and Last Remnant from the list above... all of these games has its own strength and weakness... Hopefully more good rpg will be out soon..
Oh ya, final fantasy is going multi-platform is it?

True that...
Mass Effect has good story but side quest is Zzzz....
Fable 2 has the best visual experience and entertaining side quest but story is..lol.
Fallout 3 sucky animation & character design but very immersive gameplay experience.

@Breakthru, no fallout 1 & 2?!? vmad.gif I think most of the rpg sequel nowadays couldn't surpass the original, except Fable 2.
The last time I bought JRPG thinking of giving it a chance is Enchanted Arms....the day I bought it, I traded in next day. laugh.gif
I might give Tales of Vasperia a go by renting it since many vote for the game.

@Hitman, Kotor is last gen yo! Kotor has better character development compare to Mass Effect, hopefully Bioware gona improve upon that in ME2 because I can't seem to care much for all the sidekick in ME1.

It's good to see such a spreadout vote...however I will be damn if someone vote Too Human laugh.gif

The only JRPG i actually finished playing and love every moment of it is Suikoden 3...it's fun having to recruit all the weird people. (100 people there!)

...which is also why I love the recruiting part of Kotor & Mass Effect. biggrin.gif

Who vote for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance & Infinite Undiscovery? Speak up! tongue.gif

@zhiyung, you probably forgotten the wrpg character all look very macho-homeless-bachelor-manly-man while Jrpg character are all pretty-boi-who-just-step-out-of-saloon. biggrin.gif

^You need to try some of the classic wrpg...it's like textbook man laugh.gif

wrpg like to emphasize on the role-playing part, what if i do this...what if i do that. Jrpg usually have a fixed storyline & very linear experience.

By the way, alot of you didn't mention what's your favourite. You can't have everything! I know it's hard...I love Fallout 3, Fable 2, Oblivion, Too...many, wut tongue.gif Also, i see another 3 minority...Eternal Sonata, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion & Enchanted Arms - whos that?!

One thing JRPG truly excels is getting the players to play multiple runs by implementing FREAKIN time-sensitive side quests, MISSABLE secret equipments, SECRET secret bosses, secret this secret that...
