for bumi armada sponsored, ur COC will be different from those from MISC/AET/large2 ship. u'll be given COC for near coastal voyage if i'm not mistaken. it means u have limitation and cannot apply for big2 ship unless u upgrade ur license to unlimited by collecting seatime onboard foreign going vessel.

but cheers up. most bumi armada vessel are offshore support vessel. it means some of the vessel will be equipped with "Dynamic Positioning"(DP) system. experience working onboard DP vessel + if u have license as DP vessel operator or DP engineer carry high value in Oil&Gas industry. 2ndmate with DP ticket can reach salary of rm30k in bumi armada base on insiders info.

my suggestion to you. make sure u CGPA for ur 1st sem is higher than 3.0. after that, go n ask lecturer there. or u can write to either MISC or AET and ask for sponsorship once u got ur 1st sem result. high chances they'll sponsor u.

so far not yet. i've tried to contact few of my MEBP seniors. but most of them onboard. hoho. mybe you can try give a call to alam and ask about the sponsorship. btw, try also inquire with singapore poly. they also have this course. i'll try first to ask alam and SMA if they provide sponsorship for this course.

because both MISC and AET cadets deserve equal right. unless aet cadet that year suck in SAT or because of the batch before u they've already sent 3 cadets from aet and 1 from misc. maintaining the balance.

well... you can start from rating. you can take these course @ ALAM, PELITA, etc(plenty more out there, but so far only from these 3 i've known their grads really sail maybe there's other) ...

to become a crew, you can enter ALAM rating prog. requirement only PMR(but there is also minimum academic requirement during PMR). divide into 3, you can either be in catering, deck, n engine department. they're usually sponsored by MISC. you can also become officer provided you're willing to study, taking course, n sit for examination for your COC after certain sailing time/sea time which is longer than diploma/degree route. but, for these sponsorship, usually they take those with at least sijil kemahiran or working experience.

well... i'm not sure about the cost for rating. however. i suggest you to go to PELITA for self-sponsored rating course. as i've seen their product really into the industry. however, most of them in local company. i believe that their course are much more cheaper. but if you want sponsorship. apply for alam rating course. i'm not sure about how much the course gonna cost you. you can download the course fee guide at alam website.

they advertise on local main newspaper. during my time i saw it in STAR, brita harian, etc2... alam website also announce the application opening in their website. usually after latest spm result announced.

actually... i've seen only few from ranaco make it to international community company. most of them stay with malaysian company. this is because they're still new in the industry. they're yet to be recognized globally. if their grads are performing good. they can achieve it.

personally, i'm quite scare of what is happening to ALAM and SMA performance onboard...
