» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Before this, my e71 could last for 3 days+ with normal usage.. after get garmin installed on my external memory card.. the battery only could last for 1 day even less. is the method working above? manually delete the cardrunner.dll could save more battery life? if it is not working. i guess i really need to install garmin on another memory card, only insert it when necessary in need for navigation. |

well, but the cardrunner will automatically come back once we run the garmin again? it sounds like troublesome for us to do like this..
is this considered as a bug? luckily found it out early otherwise it keeps drain the battery all the while.. it will decrease the battery life day by day and its time for a change |

nope.. at the first i feel weird, wonder why my e71 batt couldnt even last for 1 day.. i suspect it was caused by the garmin software
so from now on, i will try remove the memory card.. only insert when i need the garmin and see how it goes now my phone on charging, will update later, but normally if the phone could last more than a day then it means back to normal |

I juz removed my memory card that installed wit garmin and get the phone fully charged..
I've noticed around that my phone could last for 2-3 days wit normal usage.. 20 sms and 1 hour phone call a day.. and some wifi n media usage a week ago, i juz installed the garmin, and the battery drained very fast, sometimes cant even last for 1 day.. even when i adjusted the backlight to the lowest. after searching around here and found this method, only i realized it might caused by the garmin.. btw i was suspect b4 this but after reading here and now may give it a try it will be back once we run garmin, the only and easiest way i think is install garmin in different memory card should help, only insert when u need it Added on January 13, 2009, 7:15 pmedited: im very sure that i closed the garmin app all the time and did not leave it running backgroud.. so regarding to mr.klins, im not sure why the battery is still draining fast but we cant see any "circle symbol" on garmin icon (means that software is fully shut down without running in backgroud). so if the method working, that means there is something wrong wit the file called cardrunner.dll This post has been edited by kennyshan: Jan 13 2009, 07:18 PM |

QUOTE(x_tionman @ Jan 14 2009, 03:48 PM) erm. that only allows u to choose dual mode/UMTS/GSM. but the thing is, my 3G connection seems to be always on since there is that arrow sign under the 3G lettering. if 3G is not in usage, only the symbol 3G is there rite? there should be no arrows underneath it rite? elp elp Go Menu -> Settings -> Connection -> Packet Data -> Packet data connection -> Change to "When needed" |
