Regard to battery drain so fast.
It may cause from Garmin XT version 5.XX It has some file running in the background. so it will consume quite a lot of battery Kindly please follow this step. 1.) connect your Lovely E71 with PC from USB cable (use DATA TRANSFER MODE) 2.) go to G:\sys\bin -----> my E71 located on G: 3.) Delete CardRunner.dll http://www.onisueka.com/showthread.php?t=619 Sorry bro... It is in Thai Language.... As I'm from Thailand so I understand it. You may give it a try. Done. Card Runner.dll is the file that use to lacation messages, normally we not use it. It will save a lot of battery for your lovely E71. I tried and it add up to 2 days. Once we use Garmin again this file will automatic come back. So we must manually delete it again. Have a nice day with the awesome phone everyone..... Yes !
For the peace of mind you better get ori set just think that we spend on other things more than this why not just spend few more hundred to get the original set, right ? for me all phones purchased by me and my gf use are original, not say that I'm rich but.... "For the Peach Of Mind" like Mr.Scofield said... |

QUOTE(kennyshan @ Jan 13 2009, 03:24 PM) Before this, my e71 could last for 3 days+ with normal usage.. after get garmin installed on my external memory card.. the battery only could last for 1 day even less. is the method working above? manually delete the cardrunner.dll could save more battery life? if it is not working. i guess i really need to install garmin on another memory card, only insert it when necessary in need for navigation. after deleted can last 4 days. with the same usage. u can give it a try bro. |

Then I search in webboard. found out there is solution as I post earlier. once you test then let us know ya. I doing my way since I found out and it solve the battery problem even it is quite troblesm when need to connect to usb. remove memory card is good. but I think it hard for some people as me. As I only have 1 memory card That's y I need to search for work around ! |

QUOTE(kennyshan @ Jan 13 2009, 07:14 PM) Added on January 13, 2009, 7:15 pmedited: im very sure that i closed the garmin app all the time and did not leave it running backgroud.. so regarding to mr.klins, im not sure why the battery is still draining fast but we cant see any "circle symbol" on garmin icon (means that software is fully shut down without running in backgroud). so if the method working, that means there is something wrong wit the file called cardrunner.dll give it a try , you will see the different. for your case....... hmmm.... use different memory card is cool... hehehe |
