hmm, actually the RnR IS supposed to benefit less experienced teams, but thats the RnR not the mod. The RnR never changed since the first tourney, cept for the "You cannot create custom Classes" stuff, that was generally obsolete once they moved from stock to mod.
Generally speaking, the PAM mod was to keep the game going in a more vibrant and different way (generally to keep the game in public view since most pub servers are TDM and stock).
Since the existence of promod didnt render it totally obsolete, PAM is still there to function as more of a buffer for teams to move over to more competitive terms. Lets just say it offers a different form of "fun". Both mods are fun in my opinion in their own way. Regardless, it is a choice given to the organizers rather than players.
I've never in my life worked on PAM this much since the first configs. However, PAM has the stupid countermeasure that doesnt allow me to fix bugs in PAM itself. Like the "zomgicantchoosesniper" bug which can be fixed with 2 lines of code.
And since the plan for espgl is to have simutaneous tournaments and leagues (Promod league with PAM tournies, Pam leagues with promod tournies) it should cater to everyone. Ofcourse, prizes wise it will be based on the sponsors however.
