Getting from steam or from retail box is pretty much the same. Steam doesn't provide any servers(there is only IW.net) for you to play; Steam is just a form of DRM that Activition is trying to make use of.

nope. i am still standing.
1. i hate the attitude of the developer 2. no dedicated servers and controls over the game. 3. hate ported/degraded intel games (in terms of turning down what's already there in previous releases). |

Murderous CARE packages. Lol. Ain't that bad when enough players nearby get together, eh? Played at serverpark this morning (MW, not MW2), 25 ping was sweet sweet heaven. Doubt MW2 can top tha- o wait, it r bars nao!

It seems like by default, each bar represents 100ms... 4 bars is <100, 3 bars is <200, etc.So you guys saing 'guys its smooth at 1 bar' are basically saying 'lol I enjoy playing FPS with greater than 300ms ping'. If you enjoy it, fine. The more you know, though. I've set up mine to show 9 bars, each representing 15ms (so 1 bar is >135ms) The results even on all-Malaysian games say a lot. |

This goes to all ATI users who have graphic card issue while playing MW2 in SP campaign. If you are using 9.10 or 9.9 driver version, please rollback to 9.8 driver. This driver solved my problem where I'm experiencing sudden drop in FPS every few seconds. Good Luck. Back to MW2 private match hehehe...

If they ban for that the game goes from 80% not worth playing to 110% not worth playing.
Although the game itself is 300% as awesome than other games so doing maths on (MW2 x (IW.net/Steam penalty)) = (300% x (100-80%)) = 60% worth playing. |

no wonder MW2 uses P2P matchmaking , in dedicated server , ppl can use hax like aimbot, (as I've experienced in COD:WAW MP )...i hate hackers!
