I was just gonna ask if there's any Sony iem that is on par with Mylarone Bijou but then someone mentioned Sony EX-85.

So, is the EX-85 really as good as Bijou? Or are there better ones (from Sony)?

Maybe it's because of the LOD?

Is it not that when using a custom cable instead of the stock cable there will be a significant improvement?

I'm using a custom Canare cable to connect my E5 and player, and the sound improve (cleaner) a little bit if not much.

How is the MDR-EX300?

I know Sony IEMs aren't known for clarity and soundstage.

I have a Sony MDR-EX35LP which i occasionally use when i wanna listen to some music while trying to sleep.

I find it quite comfortable even when i'm lying on my side. Probably because of the earpiece design.

It has a decent SQ but can be a bit too bassy for my liking. And it's well below RM100.

Of course you can still feel it in your ears, but not to the extent of inflicting pain to them, which i believe was the intended question.

But wearing IEMs to sleep do have its risk tho, especially to the cables. Or to the earpieces itself.

You never know what might happen to them when you wake up.

Depends on the individual i guess. And personal preference regarding sound.

I heard that MS-1 sounds great by itself and sounds even greater when amped.

K518 supposed to be better than K514, K512 rite?

I've tried my friend's K512 and the bass is amazing.

Yea, long use will make you sweat all over them.

Still, i find close cans (earcups) to be the most comfortable for long usage. Open cans not so much.

I wasn't referring to any brand of cans when i said that. Just a general statement imo of cans.

I'm just saying that sometimes people would rather go for the design rather than functionality. You'd be surprised how they are willing to spend extra money just on looks.

Take me for example. I chose Quattro over Bijou because I like Quattros design better and it came with the color red.

Plus, the selectable bass port is really worth the extra buck.

It's really hard to find something with the function and quality while at the same time has an attractive design.
