I was just gonna ask if there's any Sony iem that is on par with Mylarone Bijou but then someone mentioned Sony EX-85.
So, is the EX-85 really as good as Bijou? Or are there better ones (from Sony)?

QUOTE(g3n0c|d3 @ May 25 2009, 08:14 AM) i have to disagree on that.... i use my fiio e5 with LOD and the bass quality have increase. the bass are more fuller and tighter and cleaner.... Maybe it's because of the LOD? Is it not that when using a custom cable instead of the stock cable there will be a significant improvement?

QUOTE(g3n0c|d3 @ May 26 2009, 10:23 AM) I guess it slightly improve the sound since EFN said the cable are RSA silver cable.... I'm using a custom Canare cable to connect my E5 and player, and the sound improve (cleaner) a little bit if not much.

QUOTE(devilish_yin @ May 30 2009, 02:02 PM) You can kick out the old Sony EX85 and Sony EX082 out of you list and replace them with Sony EX300. How is the MDR-EX300? I know Sony IEMs aren't known for clarity and soundstage.

QUOTE(fender @ Jun 6 2009, 01:12 PM) is there any in-ear earphone that is very comfortable to our ears while sleeping? I mean, when we turn our head sideways on the pillow and the earphones won't hurt our ears much. any suggestions? I have a Sony MDR-EX35LP which i occasionally use when i wanna listen to some music while trying to sleep. I find it quite comfortable even when i'm lying on my side. Probably because of the earpiece design. It has a decent SQ but can be a bit too bassy for my liking. And it's well below RM100.

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Jun 7 2009, 03:23 AM) IMO, there's no such IEM in the market that you can wear it and sleep sideway without hurting ur ears I've tried a lot of IEM but you still can feel it, pretty uncomfortable, so learn not to sleep sideway Well, have you even tried MDR-EX35LP before? Of course you can still feel it in your ears, but not to the extent of inflicting pain to them, which i believe was the intended question. But wearing IEMs to sleep do have its risk tho, especially to the cables. Or to the earpieces itself. You never know what might happen to them when you wake up.

QUOTE(duh2k @ Jun 14 2009, 08:06 PM) if you're looking for a pair of headphones to use while out and about on a portable player, I recommend the MS-1..it's very easy to drive and personally i use that with my walkman and it sounds awesome Do many ppl use MS-1 as part of their portable setup? I heard that MS-1 sounds great by itself and sounds even greater when amped.

QUOTE(Paca @ Jun 15 2009, 07:08 PM) n the ear cushion will get u sweat all over it in no time.. QUOTE(chingwooi @ Jun 15 2009, 10:43 PM) Yes, gd point, this is why I don't like headphone. I can't wear it for long coz it's hot and stuffy xD Yea, long use will make you sweat all over them. Still, i find close cans (earcups) to be the most comfortable for long usage. Open cans not so much.

QUOTE(Paca @ Jun 16 2009, 09:23 AM) but the xbr series we refering is ear cushion type not earcup I wasn't referring to any brand of cans when i said that. Just a general statement imo of cans.

I'm just saying that sometimes people would rather go for the design rather than functionality. You'd be surprised how they are willing to spend extra money just on looks.

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Jun 17 2009, 02:53 PM) Haha, that certainly sounds like me xD Design is as crucial as the functions IMO, I'll nvr get smth ugly no matter how useful it is You’re not alone my friend. Take me for example. I chose Quattro over Bijou because I like Quattros design better and it came with the color red. Plus, the selectable bass port is really worth the extra buck.

QUOTE(2kia @ Jun 17 2009, 08:42 PM) great minds think alike? haha You bet they do. It's really hard to find something with the function and quality while at the same time has an attractive design.
