post up your look of the day..

this thread is for guys who feel comfortable in what they wear and to post up so that other style conscious guys can give feedback and their opinion, pls don't embarrass yourself and write nonsence such as "im wearing nothing" or "just boxers".. instead put up pictures of what you wore earlier when u went out.. if u feel good in the clothes you wear, post it up so we can encourage one another, im currently in a international style community forum where people who really care about what they wear and looking their best, comment and give feedback to one another, so i thought i'd localize it and bring this thread to a malaysian forum..

i really like this look.. it kinda has a new york casual look to it.. its hard to find malaysians who dare to dress up like that..

Added on December 23, 2008, 6:09 pm

thank you for your compliment, i believe here in malaysia, probably because of the hot and humid weather, people have been accustomed to oversized dressing, which i find is a bad look.. i wont say malaysians should dress up more, just dress nicer by wearing more fitted clothes =) yup i'd definitely agree with you that the tie is a little short and cld have been longer..

zara sportsjacket, nice.. u shld definitely show us a picture..

nice look here but not my personality, nice shirt fit as well.. has that hawaiian vibe.. hmm the shades looks like it has the gradient clear lenses, which actually offers little or no sunlight protection.. but who cares about that right? hehe.. are u working or studying btw?

Im similar with booby..

-round neck tshirt (with cute or simple print, better if its cheaper)
-jeans
-sneakers or sandals

By the way, most of you guys really2 wear expensive stuffs. SO envy... ohmy.gif
*
personally i actually do care about the brand, but the actual fact is that guys can look stunning without needing to spend on expensive clothes.. a guy can spend less than 100 and look great, and a guy can spend thousands and still look sloppy.. it is all about the fit and the look - and this thread is dedicated to that, which is why it is encouraged to post up pictures =) the details/brand of your clothes are suppose to come second and is actually only for reference purpose =)

wow love the cardigan

btw is your PRL small logo or big logo ?

how much does it cost for the one with Japan logo ? since i am going to get ps3 for my sister's birthday i might aswell get myself a PRL  wub.gif
*
thank you..

the RL in this picture is a big pony in multicolour..

hmm the ones with the country logos cost about RM500 if im not mistaken..

White PRL - checked
Watch - checked
Belt - checked
Khakis - checked
Shoes - checked

In that case, i prefer black cardigan instead. It makes you look somehow, brighter and smarter. Perhaps :S
Just my humble opinion though, i'm not saying maroon doesn't look good on you, just, black is better in that case. Because black always blends well with khakis and white.
Don't shoot me  blush.gif

comment appreciated.. well i dont have a black cardigan as for now tongue.gif and even if i did i wouldnt wanna just wear the black all the time when im wearing khakis.. gotta expand my look by mixing and matching biggrin.gif

why spend so much on pricey stuff when u can look much better with cheaper stuff?
*
if you're refering to me in specific, i find my stuff affordable, like my cardigan from topman, swatch watch, marks & spencer belt, and socks from FOS wink.gif but i mean some people prefer certain brands than others due to design or fit and others.. for me the fit always comes first (but i do have certain brands i like and do not like, just like everyone else)..

p/s why dont u post up some pictures and join the community smile.gif

er well i guess u could get the ones from girls shop, no one is gonna see the socks anyways, thats why their called "no show" socks.. lol.. banana republic call them the "loafer sock", which of course this look goes well with loafers..

no worries, post up the nxt time..

i think for me sleeves will always be abit long whether on a dress shirt or on a jacket.. therefore i always send them to get them altered.. its kinda normal for the sleeves to be long as it can be altered to the specific individual, if they are short, they cant be lenghtened..

well the reason is because i prefer all my shirts sleeve to be the same length, therefore i get them tailored, and as for my jacket sleeve, i need them to be 1/2 inch shorter than my shirts to allow the shirt cuff to slightly show, which is why i get them altered as well..

you know what seriously this is an awesome look, they look very very well tailored.. sleeve length perfect, thats like about half an inch of the shirt cuff which is displayed.. the hat just looks great with the whole outfit, giving you like a New York vibe.. i could definitely see u with a bowtie here.. this is one of the looks where people always are trying to pull off but when they don't get it right, they just look like their trying too hard, but i have to say good job here..

err fusion what about size 38 do u think i can fit this?

http://www.emporioarmani.com/item/realgend...od10/411145374D
*
judging by your pictures, i would think you'd be a 34 or a 36, i think a 38 wld be too big for you..

Added on January 8, 2009, 4:07 pmthis is what i wore today for a short trip out

user posted image

polo-t by polo ralph lauren - classic cut (i prefer the custom cut though)
shorts by topman

i kinda pulled out the back hem and kept the front tucked in creating what RL calls the "preppy half-tuck".. smile.gif

yes, the best way you can estimate is by measuring the widest part of your chest.. however you have to always try it on as although sometimes your chest measures 36, but that particular jacket may be too big or small for you.. i personally wouldnt worry much about the sleeve length, if they are about an inch or so too long then you should have no problem getting them altered..

if you are really serious about getting a suit jacket, i would recommend you to view this:

http://men.style.com/gq/fashion/landing?id=content_4800

Added on January 8, 2009, 4:49 pmoh btw topman's suit jackets are properly sized by numbers (34, 36, 38 etc) and not by S, M, L.. so just look for your chest size..

Added on January 8, 2009, 4:56 pm

tq, this pants is a problem actually as the belt loop is particularly narrow, so most of my belts wont fit.. hmmm yeah i am planning to get some slip-ons, any recommended brands?

its cool, i don't think the problem is with the pants (they are nice shorts hehe), the shirt however is a little loose, thats why i prefer RL's custom fit smile.gif

why only tuck in the front?
and i think adding a belt might look better too.  hmm.gif

hmmm well there's actually no functional reason to tucking in the front.. i guess its just a look, kinda like gives this statement where i went like "yeah today im gonna look all neat and tidy, lets start by tucking in my *ARGHHHHHHHHH* FORGET IT" lol..
yeah i do wear a belt at times but sometimes i just leave it, i don't think it looks bad without the belt..
