izzit ok if i wear like the above pic but without the tie and half sleeve shirt instead a long sleeve, and with a pure white sneakers?  a bit semi formal looks for goin out
*
well yes you definitely could, tuck in your shirt, maybe leave one button undone.. but personally i do not like wearing short sleeve shirts, there's something about a short sleeve dress shirt that can be so middle management..

oh come on dont bring up the different point of view card for everything.. there are certain things which are what they are, similar with sneakers are casual wear, and dress shoes are formal wear..

im just stating that it doesnt look professional IMO, simplicity is the key when it comes to dressing for success.. which is why you will never see a big logo across proper dress shirts.. but well whatever makes u happy blush.gif

nope no insult to middle managers, its not to be taken literally.. it just means that short sleeve shirts do not reflect to the wearer as being a successful person, a professional individual IMO.. short sleeve shirts are portrayed to be casual, relaxed, laid back..

no doubt there are professionals who wear short sleeve, no doubt there are successful people who wear them, however im just saying that short sleeve shirts do not portray that image to me =)

Wore it two weeks ago..But I swear I got these weird looks from other people...

Short sleeve-Seed..Gift for my birthday..

Vest- From a shop called Page in Sg Wang..Frend's dad's tailor shop..
*
as you mentioned you wanted to wear the vest for a presentation right, what i would do is firstly wear a long sleeve shirt (instead of a short sleeve which you showed here), then i would button up and wear a tie (i see you unbuttoned the top button, bad look for me unless you have a really solid build), then i'd button the vest, wear dress pants and dress shoes.. you'd look more like a gentlemen this way..

edit: oh and one more thing, i'd try to keep the shirt collar within the vest instead of letting them hang outside.. i feel its just a more modern look..

Thanks hikari. Quite detail there.

Ok now question, how can we actually make it better for this type of style (can I say this is casual style?) As I believe a lot of ppl out there dont know how to mix and match properly (including me)

a) What type or belt and color is the best suited with blue jeans?
b) Can the tie been replaced with other color or its better if there is no tie?
c) For shirts with printed like the one in the picture, is it best to tuck it in or hang it out?

Please advise. Seriously no idea. Huhu.
*
a) for jeans, try a brown belt like the picture below, or you can go with your typical formal belt which you use for your dress pants

user posted image user posted image

b) i would say for that specific shirt which he wore (by cityofpalms), its better to go without a tie, it's clear he's unsure of the look he wants to go for, on one hand he wants to look super chic and youthful with that printed shirt and funky belt, and on the other hand he wants to look like a gentleman, with the tie and the jacket and the bag.. it just doesnt mix right..

c) for that kind of shirt, thats like a really really casual shirt as there are big prints on them, but actually what determines whether it should be tucked in or out is not about the design of the shirt, but the cutting.. the regular dress shirts you see in the department stores which guys use for work - those are meant to be tucked in, lots of guys actually wear those shirts untucked - very ugly look.. shirts which are meant to be untucked are cut short (because they are designed to be untucked), see example below:

How about the head of the belt (what is it called?) Can it be of any size? Some people like to wear very big pattern like eagle pattern or Superman pattern.

If belt should be match with color of shoe, how about the bag? Does it has to match also?
*
you mean the buckle? well you could say that because jeans are casual, therefore its alright to go with big buckles and patterns, but guys usually grow out of wearing them and soon will opt for more subtle looking belts..

i dont think you need to be all hardcore and have the need to match every single thing, go with black/brown/white bags and you'll be safe..

Hey guys as you all know i just bought a White shorts and i would like to tuck my shirts in but .... I think my belt is too flashy which is a Burberry belt check with metal buckle.. I was thinking of getting a white belt do you think it would look great with it? Or should i get those gucci/ hermes where they are plain leather but slightly big buckles, still flashy thou but at the front biggrin.gif

do you think white belt would suit a beige cargo pants?
*
not big fans of so-called flashy belts.. shouldnt be a problem to match white belt with beige pants.. you can wear any kind of belt for casual, there's no real sweat about how to pair them..
