Pant waist needs bringing in. Sitting too low for my taste. Also bathroom mirror needs a wipe down.

Love the lightweight scarf.

Re: better shoes - I'm sure you're probably aware, but American Tailors on Bourke Street are selling C&J benchgrades for about $450-$500 last time I went there smile.gif

I assume you guess im in Melb by the background, can i also assume your down under (no double entendre k thx)

PS: Brown suede brouges yes?no? or burgundy...

Are you referring to McCloud's on Lt Collins and Queen? They sell overpriced Loakes ($400) and Church's (chekai binder calf leather for $900). Nice to look at, not so nice on the wallet.

However, if you ever need your goodyear welted shoes resoled, they offer that service in their Collingwood factory.

Brown suede always gets my vote. So appropriate for spring. Burgundy suede...well, if you can pull it off why not.

Socks should be an extension of the pants in color tone. They can be slightly darker than your pants color/same color. This gives an uninterrupted visual line from your waist to your shoes. the point is to make it look as though your pants continue down all the way to your shoes. so general rule is yr socks shd match to yr pants. when you have to take your shoes off or sit down and your socks are exposed, socks that doesn't match your pants make your outfit appear a lil bit weird.

ofcoz, there are some exceptions for this rule. socks (which has some pattern/design/stripe) can match to the tie and shirt color as well but im not gonna to elaborate this.

so base on what u tell me socks no need to match anything? is it bcoz someone share in this thread b4 that socks no need to match anything?
or u mean underwear = socks = no need to match anything? hmm.gif
so go and wear Doraemon, Hello Kitty, anime socks since they are no rules in wearing socks.

no point talk more about socks. a lot of people not care about socks, that's why no people start a socks thread. they thought 'nah, it's juz a socks'

Nice copy and paste there from AAAC; no wonder you are not willing to elaborate on your other points. Please credit your sources next time if you are going to copy texts directly without any modification.

Actually what Andy wrote is supposed to be a general guideline instead of a sartorial rule that is set in stone; you should note that there is a big difference between 'should' and 'must'. His guide is actually more of a beginners' guide dedicated to those who are not really knowledgeable about style or are not good at colour coordination.

As long as you know how to mix and match the colour of your clothing and accessories, it should not be a problem. Moreover, socks are a rather discreet article of clothing that only peeks out once a while (when you are walking or properly seated); no harm adding a little playful note there to exude some manly confidence.

I've read about the whole matching pants thing, however, I was really bored of wearing black/grey socks everyday. Hence, the last time I went to Uniqlo, I got those blue ones above along with some red and orange ones too. tongue.gif

I personally like these bright colors with my brown shoes.

i too tend to wear funky socks, and i have a few colourful pairs from uniqlo as well.

however, your combo of black pants (they look black from the photo), blue socks and brown shoes doesn't appeal to me. not knocking you or anything. just that i would't do it.

i was about to google babychai's post but then i saw that fusionex already caught him. i would only match my socks with my pants for an important work meeting or a formal function.

Pardon me if i din follow the rules posting that i din put the source. 1st paragraph is from other source. i just want to put a reason why they have socks matching.

yes...it's a guideline but i do not think the matching are only go for shirt, pants, shoe, belt & tie only.

there's a plus point if u do not follow the socks color according to yr clothing coz yr socks can grab ppl attention to yr nice shoe as well. your nice/expensive shoe sometimes wont easily grab people attention without your attractive eye catchy socks.

Yea, I am also quite shocked at him being able to find Brooks Brothers for RM30. I would buy all of them and have them altered to fit! Buying Brooks Brothers shirts were never an option as they're so expensive either online or at their store in One Utama!
