SFC. The console that I always wanted back when i was 13.

Reason: Street Fighter 2.
The outcome: Manage to save up and bought myself a........ Mega Drive 2 instead. (Due to 'poison' from my friends. But, fortunately for me and everyone else, Street Fighter was eventually ported to Mega Drive)

I think SFC/SNES was the first console to have shoulder buttons for it's controller, right? Correct me if i'm wrong.

Sadly no, bro. A classmate of mine offered to trade his SNES for my MD, but I refused... I forgetten what was the reason behind my refusal. I stick to my MD and eventually bought another SEGA console again the next generation, which is the Saturn. nod.gif

I still remember when my dad took me to buy my Super Famicom in Sungai Wang from a game shop near the main entrance on the right (think it's a camera shop now) in 1992. Still remember demoing Super Mario World in the store and being so excited and amazed at the graphics, that I died running straight into the first koopa on World 1-1. Think I got Street Fighter 2 as well... was simply in awe of how close it looked to the console version.

Think I gave my Super Famicom away when I hit my mid-teens. Wish I still had it now. Ironically I still have my NES (and Mario 3, still in working condition. thumbup.gif) but I always love the Super Famicom more.

That was my early teens years. I have a SNES and later a cousin gave me his Super Famicom when he got married.

My first SNES game is Dragon Ball Z 3, and later Street Fighter 2. A while later Yoshi's Island. The most memorable games on SNES is...mmm... the Zelda series, Chrono Trigger.... oh yea, Cotton 100% and Ranma 1/2 fighting games.

The CAPCOM's Alladin 2D platforming is excellent, and also another game The Jungle Book. Those days licensed games are great, not like today.

i remember how me and my friends thought SNES were un-cool the moment nintendo started censoring the fatalities in the first mortal kombat. and of course all the different iterations of street fighter II, each one getting better with the minor additions leading up to Super SFII turbo.

whenever i think of street fighter ii, i think of the SNES.... or it's the other way around? rclxub.gif

You remember the port of Super Street Fighter 2 (The New Challenger) to SNES & MD?
I remember the SNES port is not as good as the MD one,
even the "Round 1 Fight" voice was eliminated from SNES one.
I remember my SEGA fanboys classmates constantly rapping on this.

Bro, is it true? Wow, honestly, I didn't know that. I used to own this game for the MD, and at that time I kept telling myself I was playing an inferior version. laugh.gif In those days, as a very young teenager, I always thought that the SNES/SFC was more powerful than the MD. nod.gif

My dear friend. smile.gif
It seems like you are wrong for many many years. laugh.gif
Looking at the spec u will know, MD has faster processor,
and SEGA marketing slogan says "Blast Processing" or something like that.
So it seems.... MD is actually superior. (Not sure myself)

And I am bloody sure Super Street Fighter 2 (The New Challenger) for MD, is better than the one for SNES.
Yes. SNES has no "Round 1 Fight", and that really is no good.

Hehe.. Thanks for clarifying that. After almost 15 years, I learnt something today about the MD. laugh.gif Yes yes, I remember that freaking awesome slogan 'Blast Processing'. Err... I think at that time, I thought the SFC/SNES was more powerful was because it has more colours.

But, if I remember, the "Round 1 Fight" voiceover is available in the first Street Fighter II version for the SFC/SNES (the one with only 8 playable characters), right? No?

I always play SNES, MD at the pay for play shop (which the police always raid) for RM3 per hour back then coz we can't afford to buy our own. The tauke's wife is always sexy and we boys would always drool ahahaha.

Also..the classic moments of playing multiplayer of moto roader and wrestling (up to 5 players) on the PC Engine. happy.gif

Yes, the "Round 1 Fight" voice over is in the earlier SF2 port for SNES, even for SF Zero 2 SNES, but hell no on The New Challenger. And the animation in that SNES port is not as sharp as MD port. U remember Blanka stage where there is an anaconda on the tree? In MD port the snake is lively, the SNES port the snake look like plastic snake sad.gif

Not sure why CAPCOM screw the SNES port, hmm.gif
probably because SNES has no Blast Processing, or SEGA does what Nintendon't. laugh.gif
