u'll need internet to update...
the file u get from MS site is merely a downloader... it checks the DX version in the computer, then download wat's needed...
games should come with at least the DX version that they need in order to run...
There's standalone DirectX redistributable, which contains all updated files, but it's big in size, but you didn't have to have internet connection to install

Frankly, there is very little difference between DX9 and DX10.
I'm wondering...how many games actually support DX10? Not a lot i think...got 20 titles??
For me it's the other way round..i dun care DX10. I just want VISTA in my PC.

Sure there's aren't lot of games that actually support DX10. But those games are the big one. The hottest one. Not some lame game. So it's definitely worth it.

DX10 for XP.. right now.. still a hush-hush oni..
better go for Vista if ur rig can support it well
Not depleted, it's already abandoned by the author. So bye-bye DX10 for XP, get Vista, or get Windows7 when it comes out with DX11
