If you used Pos Malaysia Postal rate calculator before, you should have noticed this.
http://www.pos.com.my/V1/main2.asp?c=/v1/t...aju/emsrate.asp

* The above amount is not inclusive of 23% fuel surcharge and 5% GST
* No 5% GST for item posted from Langkawi and Labuan

Question is Why Pos Malaysia still charging for fuel surcharge?? Petrol price has dropped to RM1.8!!

Anyone aware this issue has been raised? Or any announcement made by authority to review the surcharge?

Buddy. I don't think this is stupid question. I'm creating this thread to raise awareness that Pos Malaysia still charging for fuel surcharge despite the reduction of petrol price. You may share your thoughts here but I find it rude to quote this stupid Q. Btw, to my best knowledge PosLaju is using ground service, not any air service. I do not wish my buyers to pay more for postage. Thank you.

He from... excuse him... less road there...

At least can reduce it to a reasonable percent. Current fuel price drop lower than before june, suppose to be no fuel surcharge at all. Pos just need to modified the rate on their main system.... all branch will follow new rate.

Even Air Asia not charge that anymore...

Naik cepat turun lambat.. biasa la tu...

Yes, I noticed that they still charge fuel surcharge since I often use poslaju. I wonder when they will reduce the rate.

i dont think it's even possible for them to reduce the rate. these companies only know when to increase the rate but never consider to reduce considering the current fuel price. same goes to our daily necessities and food.

Cost will be different between normal and registered poslaju user.

If you going to sent out a lot, better to register with them to get cheaper price.

Register user will have account number written on the form.

Minimum cost is RM4.5 + 23% fuel surcharge + 5% GST -> RM5.76 for a 500gm package.

To be exact, it's should be like this 10% > 25% > 23%(Fuel Surcharge). smile.gif

When fuel price increase from 1.92 to 2.70, they rise the surcharge by 15%.
When fuel price drop from 2.70 to 1.80, they decrease the surcharge by 2%. doh.gif

Floor price within same city is RM3.5, within peninsular is RM4.5. Add another 28%, they are RM4.5 and RM5.8 respectively. Hope this clarifies rclxms.gif

the reason is very simple as for why post companies dun reduce their prices ...

if you earn RM$10 every time, then want you to earn RM$1 now, will you do it ? no right ? ... there is no fair or justice in business world, only the willing and the many "roberts" ...

the only thing we can do is either complain or just dun use their services until they "wake up" lor ...

Hmmm... my pc got calculator... your pc don't have one... so let me try... tongue.gif

RM1.27 / RM5.50 = 0.230909

0.230909 * 100 = 23.090909

I received a parcel today from Perak...

SBA = RM1.04, 0.4kg = RM4.50

RM1.04 / RM4.50 = 0.231111

0.231111 * 100 = 23.11111

rounded = 23% (same lor..)

I never knew that the price within same town is RM4.50. If not mistaken, all parcels i send via postlaju (in post office or post mini) r in the rate of RM5.80.

I need to call them to clarify...wondering why there did not standardize the rate in all post office??.....haiz..rugi!

It's suppose to standardize to all branches. Every time I sent an item, the staff will key-in the postcode and the weight, then system will prompt the amount need to pay. It's not simply calculate by the staff.
