giving a red-line push is to let the pistons to sit well at its proper place.new engine needs so.proper placed piston will have full performance.dun worry, even if u kong the engine, it will be the iafm to broke down 1st.its meant to be changed if ur having the 1st batch iafm.
*
I never really wack my engine until 4-5rpm @@ and no place to do that safely too
If get the car around end of July 08, i dun think is 1st batch?

so muz break in the engine properly lar?let the piston sit in their places? have not try a full tank ones...
*
Yesterday after reading about this engine breaking thing, tried to break and pijak oil like dunno wat but then not for long (Tak sampai pun 4rpm) ~~~ got cars in front sigh...

Break break engine like this (feel that sudah used up much fuel mmmm ) wondering whether it will make difference in FC after this ~
Anyway, Seronok betul, pijak the pedal

Or any particular technique to do it ~

have not try a full tank? meaning you haven't tried to pump in full tank?

oh.. btw, how are you guys saga FC? mine full tank can go around 260km only.. max also 280. T_T and i found out my car tyre pressure is 35psi. probably coz they deliver from jb?
*
Mine latest 293km for 26.672 liters of fuel (RM 48.01) - how i count this is, i recorded my mileage since the last pump before i go pump full tank again (usually i din wait until it's almost empty) ~

Then pumped in full tank ~ That cost RM 48.01 (Again, coz i din wait until tank is empty) - get 26.672 liter

FC latest --> 10.9853km / liter

*
Neither do i receive the extra oil back after service mmmm, this is a new information that we need to check whether they over fill the engine mmmm after how many months servicing @@

Means they should give us the oil back? If they never return and keep it and we paid for the full one bottle price ? mmm

Got a flask as free gift though @@

Numeni, i encounter those rat tat tat sounds at the dashboard at times too ~

Meaning now with this sound, the iafm got problem?

Must go open the bonnet and listen to it ~
As far as i know, my BLM engine is quite loud too ~ (Was in the parking bay, and a guard just walk pass by oblivious that i was already in the car, when i started the engine, he "jumped off" as in "got shocked" - biggrin.gif )

Questions for engine break in it applies to all 4 stroke engine but the article is based on motorcycle :

http://www.ntnoa.org/enginebreakin.htm
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Quatation : What's The Best Way To Break-In A New Engine ??
The Short Answer: Run it Hard !

Explanation : The first few hundred miles of a new engine's life have a major impact on how strongly that engine will perform, how much oil it will consume and how long it will last. The main purpose of break-in is to seat the compression rings to the cylinder walls. We are talking about the physical mating of the engine's piston rings to it's corresponding cylinder wall. That is, we want to physically wear the new piston rings into the cylinder wall until a compatible seal between the two is achieved.
*
The 2nd article mentioned the technique for manual car (as in changing the gears)~
And the 1st article mentioned of different time durations for different session~

Wat about auto cars?

Initially, i thought breaking in means just press the car pedal really hard @@, not sure whether it had been done correctly mmm ~ Still digesting the article

Dunno if it's normal or not but mine also got low shriek sound also after rain or during... sometimes morning got... dry afternoon definitely don't have... brake disc/brake pad problem? Haihz.
*
IMO, if it's a brake disc/brake pad prob, the low shriek should be consistent, whether it's morning or dry or wet ~
But now seem that it only happens when it's wet ~

To be sure and for peace of mind, better go to SC and have them check check ~

I also not sure whether this sound is negligible too, but i know of my friend's Honda City have a very loud shriek during cornering hrmppp

Haih....sad la My car is not yet 1 month old give me this problem ad. It's not I don't want to go SC there. Is I went there many times ad they say nothing wrong. I fed up ad. So wait until it become minimum level then only go there let them check. I really regret buying this car.
*
Then got to ask them "If there is no problem, then why is the level going down and down and down??. Could you give me the reason why?"

Dun think is a good idea to wait until minimum level, i'm not sure whether that would be too late edi ~

Look at the bright side ~ There is still good things about this car ~
They need to improve on their service more like it and of course QC (Ouh..)
