Lol. It's not Kernel.dll, but Kernel32.dll, nobody uses Kernel.dll anymore unless the application is 16-bit yawn.gif If Kernel32.dll is corrupted, then not only WLM, Windows will crash too. You sure talk like a pro there dude. yawn.gif

No word on the actual changes in this version yet, but according to Microsoft there should be some "improvements" (read: bugfixes).

i just update my messenger to the latest version. checked the "Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live\.cache" folder, 2 updates were done (based on the date modified), named "WLXSuite" and "Messenger".

i'm planning to upgrade the WLM on my sister's computer at my kampung that has slow dialup internet connection. the WLM installed in that computer is the previous version (the one with new UI that's only being updated about 2 months ago doh.gif ). cos i know that if the update is not done, she can't log in WLM.

so, i plan to copy the files to that computer for offline installation. do i need to install both "WLXSuite" and "Messenger"? or just "Messenger"?

hmm, my post earlier was not backed-up due to the lyn's crash yesterday ...

anyway, there are 2 projects in MSFN.org that lets you compile your own WLM installer ...

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=124818

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=128918

2nd link is recommended as it has GUI to select which MSI to compile ...
