I see.. Alright. I'll swing by the showroom in the afternoon to check it out. Better go before 5:30pm. Maybe can even test drive.
If not, just decide on my Spec then test drive when I'm free smile.gif

QUOTE(devinz @ Dec 16 2008, 11:11 AM)
there is an extra D3 at the Gear for S spec only
Is the same configuration with current civic and accord. If come with Paddle Shift you gear will be like (P,R,N,D,S)
If no paddle shift will be (P,R,N,D,D3,2,1)
Should already be available now, depending on SA if they allow "sneak preview".
Official date will be 18th definately car will be there on 18th...

Added on December 16, 2008, 11:15 amI see now this city is so much better equipped compare with my 2mths old civic..darn..abit jealous seh...

My civic is 1.8..so looking at what you guys gonna get seems like such a good buy with lower price!
*
due to their poor sales of city during the past 5 yrs, i think maybe they're making a big come back this round. btw, what does the 'S' gear stands for for spec E, sporty mode?

QUOTE(Steven2916 @ Dec 16 2008, 11:30 AM)
Yes, I already had a sneak preview of the new City yesterday and I will test drive it this Saturday. I will go for the S spec Alabaster Silver Metallic colour. Most likely I will book in February next year and maybe can get the car by May. Hopefully by the end of April car loan interest rate can go down to at least 2.8% or maybe even lower. S spec is good enough for me because the engine power and performance for both specs are the same hence I don't really need the extra features which are only available in the E spec. The price difference between S and E spec may be about RM5,000.
*
if by that time the interest gets even lower, maybe still can consider spec E rite. im getting later than you...

o ya, W.ROOK did mention about the differences about the upholster between the two specs, did he meant the quality of just the looks?

thanks for clarify for the upholster issue. if just the looks, then i guess the seats are not that obvious in differences if they're not put side by side.

well, this time they did fixed the front portion of the car, looks more balance now. my only complain is the back is a little bit too tall and too short but its ok, looks like gen2. maybe a little longer back will make it even perfect.

QUOTE(devinz @ Dec 16 2008, 02:01 PM)
S mode actually means "Sporty". When engaged in "S" you gear will change at a higher RPM providing more torque. On top of that, it is also a mode for you to activate Paddle Shift (manual).  rclxms.gif
Not sure about new City but in current Civic after 2007/8 batch, in D mode paddle shift will activate overdrive or (semi auto- up/down 1 gear)  thumbup.gif
Civic roof sound proof also on the noisy side, dude..notice this is the same as later generation car, as my friend Camry also have quite loud rain tok tok sound compare with previous Altis...  vmad.gif

Part of GCON or stuff? or something like pedetrian safety measure by Honda? Dunno...  blink.gif
*
ya, its very impressive but its also fuel guzzling at the same time. o well fuel is cheap now lol. i remembering the current city u just need to flip the paddle then its activate already, anytime when your driving. so the new one has to manually shift to gear S to activate it?
QUOTE(mikelee @ Dec 16 2008, 02:11 PM)
That's impressive, just like those flappy pedal gearbox in Ferrari.  laugh.gif
Anyway I realized there isn't any gear change indicator on the meter panel.

Ah I totally missed it! I think that would be the display.
The VID seems to only display how many km travelled and temperature. I think that small display on the right would be the one.

mike ur evil! hahahaha. poisoned and drooling on my monitor again tongue.gif thanks for the pics man laugh.gif oh ya, the car can be lowered right, will look more nicer cos the arc there looks very empty le.

for me i would prefer the original prime optimus grille as its unique and its the new trademark/signature/face wutever u call it for the new city. arent you guys proud of it? the modulo also good looking, looks prestige too.

lol put the length aside, me still savoring the beautifulness of 2 black....beauties.

yah man, to be honest, its kinda a lil too steep to be priced like that at the time like these.

haha ya, tough decision eh? for me i'll settle for the original first, then wait a little longer for mugen version hehe.

btw, really congrats to honda! they done a great job in their design cues. each car has their own identity yet they share the similar design.

from my point of view, city is like the younger brother of civic as it inherits the aerodynamic and sporty body shape. at the same time, it also inherits some DNA from accord too, especially the muscularity of rear bumper and front grille where it also represent its own identity. u'll get the idea wink.gif

why not? either the person has lots of $$ for downpayment, has no other commitment or stretch his loan to 9 years for rm800++ permonth.

Hi guys...just received call from my SA, according to her for E specs the price will be RM93,500.00....but still have to wait until tomorrow to confrim the price..but that price is suggested by Honda Malaysia... hmm.gif
*
if its true then this is bad...y the 2k extra? still expensive for OTR...

QUOTE(devinz @ Dec 17 2008, 10:41 AM)
I believe we shouldnt discuss about other ppl way of financing here.
I am sure those who commit, knows what they are doing and they are the one facing the impact later on. Not us. right?  whistling.gif
Whether or not how you and me manage our finances are different from individual to individual. Some believe, short term loan is better but the argument is, if you are also having a housing loan..would you throw the spare money you have to your car or house. For me, i would rather throw in my house as house loan is calculated progressively. Car loan, otherwise, once committed no matter how early you settle also you have to pay same amount.

Different ppl got different perspective in life. Some might want a stable journey till the end, in another chap he may wants to at least enjoy the moment, touch wood, none of us can be sure how long we can live.. right? At least the chap who take the risk, end of the day he can proudly say "I tried it" and he can go peacefully.  cool.gif

I'm not sure about 2K extra....but yesterday i went to maybank..the officer said have to pay 15% for downpayment..now bank only give 85% loan... blink.gif
*
i thought i can settle comfortably with 91k+, but if its 93k+ then i felt like been ripping off... ya, like many have said about the great impact is coming, even the bank dare not give full loan.

maybe because there are a lot of ppl booking spec E, thats why honda are confident to increase the sales figure to additional 2k.

RM93.5K just lie nicely within the range for E Spec. Chances are high.
*
hmm when i got my money next year, chances that i might change my mind is also possible too tongue.gif

"FYI my wife i-DSI our loan 3yrs which finished 2yrs ago."
What is this? Show off ka?  Nah I am Taking 9 yrs loan! If got 20yrs I want that also...cauz my employer absorbs all the interest.  thumbup.gif

93.5!!?  than can say good bye. T SA offering Altis 1.6 @ 97+K......... brows.gif

maybe some felt that the new city is overrated that doesnt derserve such expensive price tag. i appreciate their concerns and their experiences that they willing to share. but so far, no major complain about the current city rite. then i assume the new city gonna be more improvement, except the drawback no longer using CVT. anyway, if those think the new city worth the money and they can afford, then go for it. cheers laugh.gif
