Hi Corp. Silkworms are a safe feeder source for tarantulas, but are a really kick in the crotch to raise and breed. The food source of silkworms itself is quite costly, and they don't breed as well as roaches. I would rather suggest you feed crickets or mealworms to your spiders than taking on silkworms.

The only good side to silkworm when it comes to tarantulas is that silkworms have almost no desire to munch on a moulting tarantula. So its safer than mealworms in that sense.
