QUOTE(patryn33 @ Dec 17 2009, 01:26 AM) I had shop here numerous times, the prices seem alittle better. http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/S...ci_sku=12314948credor & grand seiko no AD outside Japan. credor don't cost that much lah.. starts around us$2.5k. http://www.credor.com/lineup/signo/index.htmlHow bout this credor? it's usd 150k Added on December 17, 2009, 1:56 pmQUOTE(patryn33 @ Dec 17 2009, 10:44 AM) I believe davc ans your qns already. online prices do differ http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/S...ci_sku=12314948 Added on December 17, 2009, 10:55 amU would be surprise! i have been an avid swiss watch supporter since ages ago but after checking out the latest market recently, u may notice a sudden rise in popularity in japanese movement watches. in terms of design and quality, it seems to be picking up and i dare said it's in par with its swiss counterpart. the technology used is rather intriguing. that's why i took the plunge to try out the latest seiko premier and i must say, im happy about it especially the reception towards the watch. in fact the high range seiko watches dun come cheap nowadays. i came across a limited edition Seiko Arctura and it cost a whooping rm19000 for a japanese movement watch. i guess it's time we look out of the box cheers This post has been edited by davc: Dec 17 2009, 01:56 PM

QUOTE(ck77 @ Dec 17 2009, 03:51 PM) The problem with Seiko is they have too wide range of products, starting from hundreds to hundreds of thousands! Though I do appreciate their high end watch and agreed that the quality is superb, but I don't see myself willing to fork out RM20k for a GS. Just me that's exactly what went thru my mind before i decided to part with almost 2k for a Seiko. lol Added on December 17, 2009, 7:08 pmQUOTE(sotong4896 @ Dec 17 2009, 04:47 PM) i do agree with you. seiko got too many range of products and caused a problem on their branding. people no longer see that seiko as an expensive watch compared to swiss made lets say u put a japanese watch eg seiko at rm10k, and a swiss made watch at rm10k... you immediately think that why that japanese watch so expensive and feel that swiss made is reasonable... just IMO hahaha i do agree with u that Seiko indeed started out on the wrong track but as consumer, we should all take a part to think out of the box This post has been edited by davc: Dec 17 2009, 07:08 PM

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Dec 17 2009, 10:16 PM) ppl like u dot think so, however u do find a nice group of watch fanatics who think otherwise. Seiko did a good job in their branding. if they were to priced themselves high like Tag, no one can afford a watch in japan in the good old days. u do find a good number of Japanese in their 50s and up who prefer a seiko over an Rolex. thats why those Grand Seikos and Credor are sold exclusively in Japan. a 10k tag/longines/omega besides a 10k seiko like a credor/grand seiko.. I prefer the later. hey just me. ppl do compare a GS/credor to Rolex and claim specs wise its as good as COSC or better, finishing wise better than a rolex. Added on December 17, 2009, 10:27 pmdon't look at the highest end of credor. no one actually go for the highest end of any brand. U didn't get the most expensive premier collection right? rm19,000 Seiko Arctura U didn't misplace a zero somewhere? any model number? close to 20K can get a nice credor or GS why a LE Arctura, resale value not even half as decent as GS/Credor. indeed. nope. certainly not. it was clearly stated rm19K for a limited arctura which look something the above pic. saw it at Moments the last time i was at The Curve Added on December 17, 2009, 10:41 pmHow much is 15 millions yen? that's the price quoted for the seiko credor sonnerie http://www.seikospringdrive.com/sonnerie/i..._procedure.htmlThis post has been edited by davc: Dec 17 2009, 10:41 PM

QUOTE(jayxunned @ Dec 20 2009, 09:33 AM) you sure dude ???? What's wrong with the dial? I got this from my relatives as a reward for studying abroad and i didn't check it properly until now. I think i had to check the receipt and proof of cert he kept when i'm going back msia. anyway , thanks for letting me know. sorry dude. i'm afraid to say that ur watch is truly a non genuine ones. u may compare ur watch with the orginal ones that can be found on panerai official websites. cheers Added on December 20, 2009, 10:49 amQUOTE(patryn33 @ Dec 20 2009, 10:25 AM) he just stated the watch u wearing.. the dial for second hands is WHITE, it should be grey. for me not sure if its the way u take the pic.. it appeared white. the original watch has larger white dials with the 9 o clock details is slightly obliterated by the white dials, the second and minutes hands appear larger, the leather strap is brown with white threading instead of brown strap with brown threading, the face of the original has rather more details at the mins and second counter at a glance, it may look almost like the real one but at closer look when u examine the details, u'll find lots of flaws This post has been edited by davc: Dec 20 2009, 10:49 AM

QUOTE(jayxunned @ Dec 20 2009, 04:04 PM) I didnt know the value of the watch when he 1st gave me the GMT.. Until a watchmaker told me at Brisbane for this brand of value and i only know and they didn't even spot for the difference so i not sure it's genuine or not. Now Partyn33 your message seems a bit inappropriate in a sense of manner. I am not sure how he get the watch and i didn't ask but i will be in Msia next year so i will be checking it with him where he bought it. If i'm not wrong, i heard and saw there was a shop at Sg wang selling these branded triple A grade watches. And for no reason i just hop it in, seems loads of aged and successful businessman(from my perception la) and they bought numbers of it regardless of brand i'm sorry for u dude but at least look at d bright side that u got to know it first handed from here rather than embarrassing urself in future when u hv to send this watch in for repair/service or selling it off. js my 2 cents, no offense. cheers

QUOTE(fauzul hazwan @ Dec 21 2009, 11:52 PM) i assume u are writing the above to me. anyway, i wasnt being sarcastic, i really liked the watch, and i think u and i have the same taste. do u think i can get it for under 3k? to patryn33 yup, im in my early 20s, just started my career recently, havent finished study yet tho.. i have been wanting to own a true mechanical swiss watch for so long, and since my bday coming up soon, looking to give myself a nice bday present.. been studying the pages of this forum to get more knowledge, and it seems the more i read the less i know what u guys are talking about.. haha. u seem to be one of the most knowledgeable here, mind giving me some tutorials on watches, movements, design, and all.. i really dont know where to start.. to all forumners, hello! im a guy in my early 20s, and i want to take up watch collection as my hobby. my dream watch for now is a panerai, think i will be able to get it in 10 years? haha anyway, i would welcome any tips, info and insights from all of you. Thanks in advance! if u're looking for a decent mechanical watch, u might wanna have a look out on Oris. The designs will definitely fit ur liking considering ur age. it's js a little more than 3k. Hit the shops while u still can as it's still within the megasales period. I personally recommend going to duty free shops eg. those at Bukit Kayu Hitam or JB and u'll be surprised with the prices they could offer Added on December 22, 2009, 9:17 ambtw, Seiko Springdrive and Grand Seiko can be found in malaysia with price not less than 15k each saw it at Moments Sunway Pyramid yesterday. Dun mind me, i might a little outdated but im aw inspired by its movements This post has been edited by davc: Dec 22 2009, 09:17 AM
