QUOTE(dinodog_Jr @ May 6 2009, 12:02 AM) you need create a partition from the Utilities>Disk Utilities>Partition in Mac OS X. err why all that hassle? just type bootcamp assistant on to the spotlight (magnifying glass top at the side). Set the partition limit for windows or linux that you are installing and insert the disc and follow the on screen instructions. After you are done, insert the first mac osx installation disc that came with your macbook and install that for drivers. After you create a new empty space from your HDD. You will ask to insert the XP CD Installer. Make sure you read the bootcamp pdf. PDF will be placed on the desktop during the procedure. You may check youtube videos tutorial for more details. |

QUOTE(Crusader @ May 13 2009, 12:28 PM) Anyone here using the latest 17" MBP? The display problem (green line) solved? Heard that the battery won't go for 8 hours as claimed by apple, anyone? dude the 8 hours battery life can be achieved if,Going to get one soon. A. switch off WLAN,Bluetooth B. Brightness at 3 bars C. Use 9400M GPU I could achieve 5 hours 35 minutes on a macbook Alu and 4 hours on my Macbook White with A & B. Of course long battery life is due to less usage of peripherals that take out alot of charge from the battery. |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ May 14 2009, 10:50 AM) i recently bought macbook 13" aluminium... it mention 2GB ram on board.. do u mean i can upgrade it to 4GB maximum? Your Logicboard (Motherboard) can take a theoretical 8GB memory(4x4GB) but since Leopard uses a 32Bit Kernel anything more than 6GB(2+4GB) will cause problems,i guess you have to wait for Snow Leopard to go for 8GB,the Logicboard and other peripherals are 64bit. |

QUOTE(chizzu @ May 14 2009, 11:29 AM) hehe thanks crazyee you beat me to it, actually Leopard is a hybrid,64bit unix and 32 bit kernel. Means to say once Snow Lwopard comes in 64 bit will be fully employed and the software devs needs to be complaint to this. |
