QUOTE(chingwooi @ Apr 14 2009, 02:26 AM) When I purchased my MacBook white, I asked the shop guy whether they can replace my HD to 250Gb or not and they said nope, because the warranty will be voided once you do so. So, you had better gv them a call for confirmation before you do it. it will void your waranty for the hard dis (obviously coz you are replacing with a new 1 |

well, performance wise it quite significant in terms of file access and transfer and it does increase the heat of macbooks too. but for games, usually its the GPU and the ram that does all the work. unless time for loading those 3d texture of the game really matters to you go for the 7200 rpm.

take out the superdrive and install another 500gb there and you get 1tb of hard drive
or running 2x 500gb on raid well, this is a troublesome project tho |

recently my mbp been acting strange. i not sure why. the popping sound on my left speaker is getting worse and sometimes annoying. regret din get ACPP when i bought my MBP.
now my mbp keyboard and trackpad wont work if the mbp is hot. i need to shut down my mbp using external kb or mouse and let it cool down a while. then only i can start it up and use it normally.. |

mine is santa rosa chipset. so it can get quite hot. when i go out with all my fans off, it could run around 75-80c constant.
run 90c once but thts coz i am overloading my mac with dual screen and vmware doing heavy stuff and the left speaker popping sound is annoying... |

QUOTE(nimrod323 @ May 14 2009, 11:23 AM) Your Logicboard (Motherboard) can take a theoretical 8GB memory(4x4GB) but since Leopard uses a 32Bit Kernel anything more than 6GB(2+4GB) will cause problems,i guess you have to wait for Snow Leopard to go for 8GB,the Logicboard and other peripherals are 64bit. i tot Leopard is already 64 bit? This post has been edited by chizzu: May 14 2009, 11:31 AM |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ May 14 2009, 04:21 PM) i was wondering about mac os hdd structure. you can partition your hard disk using disk utility.when i bought it, i assume it has 1 partition. does mac perform like windows where u can have system files in C:, while your own files in other partition? or maybe for mac, all file in 1 partition? |

if you plan to use bootcamp i tihnk you better keep it on one partition coz bootcamp doesnt like more than one partition in the hard disk
